When I water skied I had my right foot forward because my strong leg was my left. .

I waterskiied for damn near 30 years, and slalomed for 25 of those years. I always skiied with my kicking leg up front. Not sure if this is what you do. Both legs are strong, I just started out that way and never changed.

I've never snowboarded, but know enough that the mechanics are different from waterskiing.

My parents met on a water skiing team, so I grew up on skies pretty much. I have been in all kinds of skiing shows doing doubles, piramids, ballet on the swivel skies...great times. Ever since I started slalom skiing I was a 'goofy' foot....same as my mom. Any time I tried to get up on a slalom ski with my left I would fall over. [:/] so just kept with the goofy foot. Same way I would ride a skate board, push with the left foot and keep my right foot forward. Guess it just makes me all around goofy :S:P:D
