iluvtofly 0 #1 December 31, 2008 I'm actually going through my apartment and throwing things away. I grew up in a family of packrats so this is a very difficult thing for me to do. But I actually filled up 2 garbage bags today and took them to the curb. There is some stuff though that I really don't need to keep but I feel guilty about just throwing it away. And that's all the stuff from my wedding. To all the other divorced folks out there...what did you do with the momentos from your failed attempt at marriage? I also don't know what to do with my wedding dress. Thanks for the help.

You'll either get some money from it when it sells or at least it's not there when you need to pack it up and move it.'Shell
iluvtofly 0 #3 December 31, 2008 I was thinking about that. It just seems a little odd to take a wedding dress to the Salvation Army.
eeneR 3 #4 December 31, 2008 You might very well make a poor persons wedding the most wonderful thing ever. Donate what ever you can, heck there might even be places that take donated wedding dresses! LisaH 0 #5 December 31, 2008 You could donate it. "There are several charities that would be thrilled to receive your special dress. It will be resold and the proceeds will benefit others. It's a great way to give back and make a difference in someone's life. Donating your wedding dress is a fabulous way to help someone in need." http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/886333/where_to_donate_your_wedding_dressbridal.html?cat=7 Be yourself! skymama 37 #6 December 31, 2008 My original wedding dress is still in my attic. I haven't donated it because it's from the 80's and I didn't think anyone would even want that style these days. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

Oh I don't know, the 70's look is well on it's way to "back", so the 80's can't be far behind. The only thing I have still from my first marriage is video and pics. Both have -- now -- dead relatives, grandparents and the like. My ex probably turned tricks in her wedding dress It wouldn't hurt you to think like a fucking serial killer every once in a while - just for the sake of prevention
guppie01 0 #13 December 31, 2008 My first wedding dress got rust stains all over it (leaky roof) - it ended up in a dumpster. Most of the other wedding stuff ended up in a dumpster as well (I really don't recall). I agree that donating it would be a good idea. g"Let's do something romantic this Saturday... how bout we bust out the restraints?" Raddest Ho this side of Jersey #1 - MISS YOU OMG, is she okay?
