dropdeded 0 #1 December 20, 2008 Do you get one? Do you expect one? All of our fulltime field employee's (about 300+) got a $100.00 JC Penny's gift card and the other maybe 100 office personell get I dont know what?? I dont know what the field supervisors get either (like office folks, really none of my business). I heard some new field employees that have been here like a couple of months tops whining about "only got $100.00 gift card". That makes me mad I've worked where we got huge bonuses, and I've worked where we got a fruitcake. Myself, I dont expect anything and appreciate what I get when I do. Why do these youngsters EXPECT not just more, but anything at all??------------------------------------------ The Dude Abides. -
LuckyMcSwervy 0 #2 December 20, 2008 I work in state government and they did away with performance based bonuses quite a few years ago. Personally, I had a problem with the state handing out a "bonus" to us because we're just doing what we're paid to do, and we're paid decently for what we do anyway, nothing should be "extra" because it gives the taxpayers something else to bitch about. Just my .02! BTW - Don't get me wrong, I'd loveeee a bonus if I worked my ass off all year and truly deserved it, no matter what the size, and only if I wasn't working in the public sector. Always be kinder than you feel.

sunshine 2 #5 December 20, 2008 At my company we get a percentage based on our pay and how long we've been with the company. Mine this year equaled about one weeks pay. But yeah, i can't stand people that bitch cause their bonus wasn't enough - just be happy you got something. ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! I get a Mike hug! I have a lawn service company and have found that after someone has been with me for about 4 months they start acting like I owe them more then a paycheck. Like I would not survive without them. I got news for anyone who thinks this way. Your employer was there before you got there and they will be there when your gone.

d_squared431 0 #10 December 20, 2008 Be happy you get something as a bonous. It is better than nothing. I am getting 200 and was not expecting any because I have only been with the hospital where I work for for just about 4 months. I was rather surprised. The last hospital I work for did not give a xmas bonus only year end bonus.TPM Sister#130ONTIG#1 I love vodka.I love vodka cause it rhymes with Tuaca~LisaH You having a clean thought is like billyvance having a clean post.iluvtofly

Pokerstar 0 #16 December 20, 2008 Our fiscal year ends February 28th, and this year, not only are we not going to get any year end bonus (based on performance factors), business is such that the company has offered all corporate employees (like me) a Voluntary Separation package based on years of service and age. If there are not enough takers after early January, there will be lay-offs in mid February. Soooo, possibly a big spring DropZone tour for me, Have tent will travel! \m/ Fortunately, I'm adhering to a pretty strict, uh, drug, uh, regimen to keep my mind, you know, uh, limber. --- The Dude ---

tigra 0 #18 December 20, 2008 We got lunch on Friday, but they usually provide lunch at the end of the month. No holiday party or anything. But I work in the mortgage industry and we've had massive layoffs this year. A) I am lucky to still have a job because I really need it and B) with all the layoffs over the past 2 years, it would have been in really poor taste to have a big holiday party. I would not complain about a $100.00 gift card. One place I worked gave out Target gift cards, but they were for different amounts. What you ended up with was random- could have been anywhere from $20.00 to $50.00. I thought that was wrong- just split the difference and make them all for $35.00 or something! I mean- Its Christmas, not a lottery!

Our "official" bonus is $25, comes in a seperate envelope with a card "signed" by the owner's family. The real bonus is based on miles driven from Dec 1 to Nov 30 and just came this week.
