guppie01 0 #1 December 3, 2008 My Nephew is a chef and he has asked for a knife roll kit for Christmas.... he has specified he wants a tri fold, with clips instead of straps, and 12 plus capacity. I've been googling all morning looking at messermeister, wusthof, etc., however am not having any luck finding what he's described. Any chefs out there who can offer a brand or idea on what my Nephew is looking for.... thanks, g"Let's do something romantic this Saturday... how bout we bust out the restraints?" AggieDave 6 #2 December 3, 2008 Found with a single google search: http://www.cheftools.com/prodinfo-new.asp?number=12-0155 That looks like it matches his wish list.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
guppie01 0 #3 December 3, 2008 Yeah, I've looked at that one, however it doesn't have the inside clips for the knifes, just on the outside zipper closing. g"Let's do something romantic this Saturday... how bout we bust out the restraints?" AggieDave 6 #4 December 3, 2008 I thought the description given about the clips was for the knives. Have you tried asking him what brand he wants?--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
BIGUN 1,317 #5 December 3, 2008 As AD suggests, you may need to qualify your nephew's request to ensure he's not looking for a plain old tri-fold with exterior clips instead of zippers or thread-thrus. The reason is because our company does a lot of high-end events and our chefs use the tri-fold bag described - with exterior clips. I've never seen one where there is a clip for each blade and can't help but wonder if a chef wants to drag his/her fingers across a blade to unclip it.Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
