Redline165 0 #37 November 27, 2008 QuoteQuoteIt could be worse. I know of a Cherokee that's had every mech in the area ('cept me, I won't go near it) pulling his hair out. It runs great but ocassionally, when turning left, it shuts down. It always starts right back up and may not do it again for weeks, doesn't leave any codes either. We gotta' enjoy it while we can, it's gonna' get worse. Pretty soon, all the cars will be made by BIC. Duh obviously it is not modified enough electrical portion of ignition switch. (just reading... stands out)

SuFantasma 0 #41 November 27, 2008 LOL !!! Good One... Serious note .... I've owned Jeep Gran Cherokees 1996, 1999 and currently own a 2006.... couple of thoughts from memory: I think models 1996 throug 1998 share the same body style and configuration) the running lights controller is under the hood (on the passenger side and they are prone to fail ... You can google it and get the exact location... I might have the autodata CD with the model-specific info if needed (will have to dig)....Y yo, pa' vivir con miedo, prefiero morir sonriendo, con el recuerdo vivo". - Ruben Blades, "Adan Garcia"

So, I no longer have daytime running lights but that's okay. I know where the little dial is to turn them on. 'Shell
