A nice Thank You

So I felt like crap today(beginning of a sinus infection) but I went to the DZ anyway to pack my rig (left unpacked last night) and hung out for awhile.

The DZO calls me over the PA and hands me the pictured "booty"

On 10/27 I was allowed to jump onto a school athletic field with 7 other people (Huge landing area) for a "Dare to live an extreme life without drugs" Open Field Demo at a K -6 school about 5 miles from the DZ. We all had a big bag of wrist bands to deliver to a class sitting on the grass at the edge of the field
Each of us handed out the bands and spent 20 min answering the kids questions about our rigs and skydiving, it was fun the kids were really sweet.

I was 8th out and did a Hop n Pop from 6500 and followed the others in it was a blast.

Awesome. I once showed up at my home DZ one day to have the DZO come up to me and ask if I could fill in on a demo for a Royal Rangers jubilee nearby. For those wondering, the RR is like a Christian Boy Scout group. I had but 30 minutes to get ready. It was a lot of fun and all the kids loved it. I even had one of the kids come up to me and "sign" a song once he found out I was deaf!

A few years back, JohnMitchell and I were fortunate enough to be on a demo where we were jumping into our kids elementary school. Our kids were very excited about it. They told us that we should come up to them as soon as we land so that everyone would know that we were their parents. :D:D Around that time we'd also take our rigs into their classrooms and do the question and answer sessions and show them how parachutes are packed etc. Our kids loved that back then. Of course most of our kids are now in college and they think that skydiving is just a lame sport their parents do. But it was fun while it lasted. [:/]
