phoenixlpr 0 #1 June 2, 2010 Can you make this trick? That's what I got after a fast grab on my toggles. I felt lucky when I could fit a single finger in.
Squeak 17 #2 June 2, 2010 nice knott. Just FYI, there was a time when people used knotted rope to pull on. If you are ever in a situation again where you dont have a "loop" dont frett just pull on the string You are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky) My Life ROCKS! JohnRich 4 #3 June 2, 2010 That's a good one. I get an overhand in the steering line now and then, but not in the toggle itself. As for holding it, you could just put the wad in the palm of your hand, make a fist over it, and run the line out between the top side of two of your fingers, like holding the old-fashioned wood dowel toggles. That's what I do sometimes when I'm in a hurry to steer, and I don't have a few seconds to thread my fingers into the inside of the loop.
Skydivesg 7 #4 June 2, 2010 Wow ....... nice. I have the toggles by UPT with the fabric finger on the top and the straight pin on the bottom. And I'm very careful how I stow my brakes and the excess steering line. I think I'd be hard pressed to end up with your ball of crap.Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be. I hold like that nearly all of the time, especially with gloves on (no chance of getting my hand stuck in the loop).. And my Speed Glider has a very large loop and a plastic Toggle (like your old wooden one) - if I remember, I'll send a photo (.)Y(.) Some people really jam their hands in the loops so tight that they can't get them back out easy and quick. I've always had a problem with that technique. I just put three fingers in my loops, so that there's a loose fit, and I can quickly pull them out if necessary in order to do something else.
