Brian425 0 #1 October 20, 2008 So we are having a "Drink till you liver cries" party. I need suggestions for a place to go. It should be: CHEAP a dive within a 5 minute walk of 52 st and 6th Ave, NYC. Thanks in advance. B The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand. What do you consider cheap and I might have a few suggestions. If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!

Plus I don't think we want to hear about some poor drunk bastard falling off the George Washington bridge into the drink the next day. Brian425 0 #9 October 20, 2008 Cheap is pints of beer $5 or under. It has to be walking 5 minutes walking distance from 52 and 6th. Otherwise people will flake. We all work for a famous investment bank that filed bankruptcy. So we are celebrating it's death as we wait to get laid off by the bank that bought us. Can't you guys just play it safe by buying a keg of beer and celebrating in one of your apartments or places you live in?"Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban
Rookie120 0 #12 October 20, 2008 QuoteCan't you guys just play it safe by buying a keg of beer and celebrating in one of your apartments or places you live in? I just called my wife who works in Manhattan and asked for a cheap place in that area and she first laughed. Then she said to go to a liquor store and go back to your hotel. That about as close to cheap as your gonna get.If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!
Brian425 0 #13 October 20, 2008 I work in the area. I am just tired of $9 pints of beer. That is why I said, $5 pints. We will find something, we really just want to get very drunk. Billy, I doubt that you have seen what the average NYC apratment looks like. 30 drunks will not fit. The apartments you saw on Friends is just not real. Brian425 0 #19 October 22, 2008 I thought of Nelson Blue; but, it was a bit of a hike. We decided on Jimmy's Corner. http://newyork.citysearch.com/profile/7186489 I spoke with a few people and gave them a call. The woman who answered the call sold me. When I told her the group size and where we were from, she was concerned that we would fit and she could "take good care of us." I stopped by after work to chat with her. She poured me a pint (free) and walked me around. She showed me some of the pictures of Jimmy Glenn (a former boxer and trainer) and told me to come and have a good time. I don't know how to explain it. I was in there 15 minutes and I felt like I was at a friends's house with a cold beer in my hand. I'll give you the full review after the party. Probably on Friday because I fully expect a 2 day hangover. The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand. Brian425 0 #25 October 24, 2008 So an update on our outing. We went to Jimmy's Corner. http://newyork.citysearch.com/profile/7186489 We had a great time. $3 bottle domestics, $4 mixed drinks. A dive; but, a friendly dive. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. And yes, my liver cried. I was in bed last night at 9:00PM.
