Skydave103 0 #1 October 17, 2008 Why do grown men run on to the field dance and jump around like little girls? Yes it is a kids game but they are grown men and they look like idiots. I don't know when this started but I find it ridiculous and quite lame. http://sports.espn.go.com/broadband/video/videopage?videoId=3648410&categoryId=2521705 (no Sox fans I am not picking on them, just MLB)LifeshouldNOTbeajourneytothegravewithawellpreservedbody, buttskidinsideways, cigarinone hand, martiniintheother, bodythoroughlyused upandscreaming:"WOO HOO!! Darius11 12 #3 October 17, 2008 Quote Why do grown men run on to the field dance and jump around like little girls? Dude they get to play a game and get millions of dollars for it. I would be jumping up and down every day if that were the case for me. I don’t know I have played sports all my life and I know how it feels to be confident and get your ass beat it sucks, But I have also jumped just as much for sports no one is paying me for. Wining is awesome.I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain
lawrocket 3 #4 October 17, 2008 Actually, the STUPIDEST celebration in sport's history was Bill Gramatica, NFL kicker. After making a meaningless field goal in a loss, he celebrated by jumping up and down, and tore his ACL. Or Gus Frerotte (NFL QB) headbutting a cement wall after a touchdown, and rode an ambulance to the hospital immediately afterward. Then again, I don't think that anyone can match soccer players for ridiculous celebrations. My favorite was Paolo Diogo. He managed to score a goal in a Swiss league, and jumped up and grabbed a fence in celebration. Recently married, his wedding ring caught on the fence. The ring stayed on the fence, as did the skin from his finger (the rest was amputated). He was then assessed a yellow card for excessive celebration. My wife is hotter than your wife. Skydave103 0 #5 October 17, 2008 I don't think its a tradition. Yes they make ALOT of money and they play a kids game, but that is no excuse for jumping around and hugging each other. That's just WRONG. LifeshouldNOTbeajourneytothegravewithawellpreservedbody, buttskidinsideways, cigarinone hand, martiniintheother, bodythoroughlyused upandscreaming:"WOO HOO!! What a ride!!!" ASTKU 1 #7 October 17, 2008 Because they just made a huge comeback and aren't out of the playoffs yet....... They are jumping around because they get to play again..... I do, however, think that celebrating ridiculously after only winning a ALDS or NLDS is stupid. Celebrate when you make it to the world series and when you win the world series! BillyVance 34 #8 October 17, 2008 I'll tell you what... back when the University of Alabama's football program started their slide due to probation punishment, teams that hadn't beaten them in so long, 10, 20, or 30 years, were tearing down their goalposts when they finally did. They couldn't beat a full-strength Alabama team, but could beat a half-strength team, and felt that was worthy of thousands of dollars in damage to their home football field and goalposts... What the hell does that have to do with MLB players jumping around in a big circle jerk? Quote If they walked around emotionless, no one would tune in. You watch the game to see them jump around together at the end? I watch for the game and turn it off after the last out.LifeshouldNOTbeajourneytothegravewithawellpreservedbody, buttskidinsideways, cigarinone hand, martiniintheother, bodythoroughlyused upandscreaming:"WOO HOO!! Essentially what you are trying to say is if you end up going home with some chick and you are drunk off your ass and your buddy offers you a viagra you should take it. Because it is super embarassing not being able to get your dick hard and the odds of ever getting a second chance with that chick are slim and none. See, I'm following you brother. profallrate 0 #16 October 17, 2008 Because they are 50% entertainers, 50 % athlete. The more crazy they are , the more tickets get sold, the more millions they make. People pay their hard earned money to see that. Some go for ballgames, some concerts, some racing, some ballet. It is all ntertainment. Whatever your taste are. My tastes in entertanment; I spend my money jumping. (oh, and at the animal feed store.)------------------------------------------------- Lord please help me to be the person that my dog thinks I am.
