grimmie 186 #101 September 14, 2008 The "Tonight Show" with Johnny Carson. The best host in TV history. I went to a taping his last month on the air. Todays hosts wish they could be half as funny.
popsjumper 2 #102 September 14, 2008 Just for the fun of it, I'd have to add Sesame Street. For a while I taught a Radio Operator course in the Army at Ft, Monmouth, NJ. It was a "radio for dummies" course...1 week of learning crammed into 8 weeks. (Go ARMY!) Every morning I'd remove the internal cable TV line and stick it out to window to pick up local stations. We'd watch Sesame street. Last day of class I got everybody to stand up in their desks and at the count of 3, jump down and hit the floor hard and yell, "COOOKIES!!!!" at the top of their lungs. We were upstairs in an old wooden WWII-type, 2-story barracks building and the thunder of the jump was hilarious...shook the entire building. Well, WE thought so anyway. However, the school's NCOIC who's office was directly below us didn't. The next day, me and my assistant were banished to the back 40 of the base on "miscellaneous detail" which lasted my last 4 months in. Our "punishment" turned out to be working with Philco Ford civilians who were building a SATCOM station in the back corner of the base. Side note: I always regretted not going to work for Philco Ford after I got out. They tried very hard to recruit me. My reality and yours are quite different. I think we're all Bozos on this bus.
