Twoply 0 #1 September 8, 2008 I got this virus that wont let me delete or quarintine. Its a Trojan horse one located in and called C:\WINDOWS\system32\__c00CADC8.dat I've done the searches and it's evading my anti virus stuff saying access denied. I've tried to look it up and delete it. I found it, but it says it's being used by other programs or other users and wont let me remove it. I restarted windows in safe mode and it still wont let me delete it. Tips? suggestions?

Tuna-Salad 0 #3 September 8, 2008 Turn of system restore, reboot in safe mode and try it there. Also do a google search on any processes you might be running that you are unsure of to see what they are. Generally a virus will run some sort of downloader agent or back door, so since it is technically in use you cannot remove it and that is why it says denied. So find and kill as many processes as possible (because one of them could be related to the virus) then kill system restore and start in safe mode and try again. Also avg should have a place on their website for specific viruses. http://www.grisoft.com/ww.virus-removalMillions of my potential children died on your daughters' face last night.
