kikkoman 0 #1 September 5, 2008 I was in my first crew resource management class for my aviation flight science degree at my college, and my professor asked if anyone had an interest in parachuting. Three people including myself raised their hands and the one in front said he did it for "the sensation of freefall". I asked if he was a jumper and he said that he only has done it once out of a helicopter in Las Vegas. I haven't heard of any helicopter tandem jumps in Las Vegas and want to know if there are any such operations in effect. Thanks a lot.
DSE 5 #2 September 5, 2008 Given how often a DZ in Vegas seems to lose/break/not-maintain their aircraft...wouldn't be too surprising if there were. Given the amount of creativity another DZ in the Vegas area has shown, it wouldn't be out of the question. I'm aware of tandems from heli's, just not aware of any specific tandem/heli jumps in Vegas. jtval 0 #3 September 5, 2008 There was ONE helicopter tandem that I know of while I was living in las vegas. IT was done out of a sikorski S-58(attached pic). That's a big ass heli. but unless the kid in your class was an older women I doubt it was him.The heli took the load to 9,000 AGL and let all the fun jumpers out (hold 9 jumpers plus crew)Then, the tandem pair got out. The jump went off without a hitch. My photos My Videos
