jhrmustang 0 #1 September 2, 2008 If a person puts up a link to their my space page should it be set to public? What is the point of putting the link out there if the profile is set to private? The strong can always afford to be gentle, It is only the weak who need to "give as good as they get." ladydyver 0 #2 September 2, 2008 why advertise if you don't want anyone to see the page in the first place. DPH # 2 "I am not sure what you are suppose to do with that, but I don't think it is suppose to flop around like that." ~Skootz~ I have a strong regard for the rules.......doc! LuckyMcSwervy 0 #3 September 2, 2008 I'm a guilty party on this one. I figured if someone here wants to see my MySpace page, no problem, send a friend request and you can get right in. I know it sounds petty, but I keep my shit private for a couple of reasons: 1. It's my private life where my friends and I can share our silly pics and shit like that. 2. I don't let anyone I work with in, because there's a lot of fake, petty shit at my work, there's no way I'm letting them in - my time out of the office isn't their business, as long as it's legal, and it's all legal! 3. The ex factor. We still have some of the same friends/acquaintences, and I don't want that sneaky bastard to be privy to any part of my life anymore. He made the decision to leave, so fuck him, it's none of his business what I'm doing now. I know they're all very personal reasons, but I've had a few people from here put in the friend request thing, and I've done the same to them. If it's offending anyone that my page is set to private when I have the link in my signature, no problem, I can take it off. Always be kinder than you feel. poe62 0 #4 September 2, 2008 I'm with her...mine is private as well. I don't need my very nosey mother reading about the crazy crap I do on the weekends. I don't want my employer or coworkers on my page either. It's very easy for someone to click "add" if they really want to see my page. It's hard to explain to my mom that the blog I wrote doesn't mean pending doom (they usually have a close call from my weekend of skydiving). ~Nikki http://www.facebook.com/poe62 Irgity Dirgity
d_squared431 0 #5 September 2, 2008 There are reasons some set their profile to private. Doesn't mean the person won't add you as a friend if you ask. My myspace is set to private. It is like that for one specific reason. If I don't know the person in one way or another, or thru- a mutual person there is no need for them to view my page.TPM Sister#130ONTIG#1 I love vodka.I love vodka cause it rhymes with Tuaca~LisaH You having a clean thought is like billyvance having a clean post.iluvtofly
