ragglesnarf 0 #1 December 17, 2005 I've done some searches on dz.com and cant find exactly what I'm looking for. Hopefully, the community here can help. I'm wondering the differences in flight between a sabre 1 170 and a hornet 150? Exit weight of 130. Specifically, how much faster is the 150 and how much twitchier? ~Nikki~
skybytch 273 #2 December 17, 2005 Best way to figure that out? Jump both and decide for yourself. The Hornet will turn a bit faster than the Sabre, since the Sabre is rectangular and the Hornet is slightly elliptical ("tapered"). "Twitchy" is not a term I'd use to describe either of those canopies when loaded under 1.0. "How much faster" depends on your perception of speed. Having jumped several different 170's and 150's at a bit higher wingloadings than what you're talking about, I can say that the 150's I jumped were faster than the 170's. But how much faster? I have no idea - all I know is I felt and saw a difference.

Sabre 2s are slightly tapered and compete directly with Hornets, Safires, etc.
