galvar2439 0 #51 August 22, 2008 Quote Another forum thread got me to thinking. What are some of the nicknames jumpers have received? "Plane ride" "Sunset" are the first two that come to mind... any other good ones? We have "Pig Fucker" at our DZ. I dont want to know or see the the pics of how he got that one.So i just broke up with this woman who wasn't even my girlfriend! hobie331 0 #54 August 22, 2008 Quote We have like a million Mikes at our DZ so they all have nicknames too. We need one more Mike. All but one got Seven Dwarfs nicknames. The lone one is Billy because he bought a helmet with the name painted on it. I sail a Hobie catamaran and the sail number is 331. I used it for my screen name and Hobie just took. I used to be Yo-yo. Not skydive related though. When I worked fire/rescue I got promoted up and down the chain of command alot. Seems I had issues with authority(receiving it, not giving it). It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.

warpedskydiver 0 #58 August 22, 2008 Quote "Hulk" ~ The guy was built like one, and had a green jumpsuit. "Iron-man" ~ THAT guy earned that one because he turned the PLF into an art form, but still always just dusted off and walked away like nothing happened...saw him land on concrete so hard once, he actually broke a leg-strap! "Navy SEAL" ~ Guy got that one because it's about the LAST thing he looked like...he makes FutureDivot look like Mr. America! "Round-Man" ~ Again, another heavyweight ...got the name, not because of the shape of his canopy. "Battle Star" ~ Because docking with him...was like docking with a Battle Star. "Dangerous Dave" ~ Self-explanatory. "Hollywood" ~ If there was a camera around he was in front of it. "Bugsie" ~ He worked for Orkin, had a white jumpsuit with Orkin patches on it. "Big Foot" ~ real name- Marshal Clark, if ya ever saw him ya know why. "B.M." ~ Ex-Army guy that came around now & them...stood for Bullet Magnet. You missed a few.... itllclear 1 #62 August 23, 2008 Quote We have "Pig Fucker" at our DZ. Was the pig a male or a female? Which was the jumper? It's one thing if the jumper is into bestiality. It's another if the jumper is gay."Harry, why did you land all the way out there? Nobody else landed out there." "Your statement answered your question." itllclear 1 #63 August 23, 2008 We had a jumper on the DZ who's handle in the USMC was "Lizard." Something about his tongue. "Bear" was a huge hairy guy, passed away from a heart attack AFTER a day of jumping about a year and a half ago. Never knew how "Spider" got his nickname. New all of them for amny years before I knew their real names. One day it happened allthat all three left messages for me with the receptionist at my office at the bank for which I worked. "Harry, do you have any friends with people names?""Harry, why did you land all the way out there? Nobody else landed out there." "Your statement answered your question." Lastchance 0 #68 August 23, 2008 That name came from when I first started jumping. Now I do cross my legs for comfort. I generally don't uncross till final. Lastchance 0 #70 August 23, 2008 Kinda funny. I was listening to some spectators watching jumpers in the air. One made the comment. "I wonder why they cross their legs, it looks kinda gay." I told her it might look gay but it's comfortable. Oh no. That reminds me of Eddie Murphys' gay Mr. T. Hey Boy. You look mighty cute in them there jeans........... By the way. You have a great name. karlm 0 #74 August 24, 2008 Quote MY TI's nickname is Crazy Dave and another guy named Toggles at our DZ. Toggles - I remember that jump so well... Nico was doing a training jump for his Cat III with me, I watched him and the fellow jumper track off and I deployed, after doing my usual checks etc, I looked around for the rest of the jumpers on my dive and saw Nico flying off in the distance, I headed his way to go buzz him. I saw him pop the brakes an the canopy fluttered a little and thats when I noticed a brake line flying loose behind the canopy, but it was not turning. I few seconds later I saw him do him EP's ...... he landed with both yellow toggles in his hands, his rigger with a buddy the night before did not work And from then on Nico is called Toggles Better never to have met you in my dream than to wake and reach for hands that are not there.
