question for military guys...

Heya... this question is for military guys... more specifically I guess, men in the Navy. I'm just wondering if it's considered "normal" or just something that perhaps "younger" (i.e. 18 - 24 year old) guys do to get a... umm... ok.. prostitute, when you are in port in certain foreign countries? I'm not trying to judge anyone. I have a good friend and really had NO idea that he would do that... so I was a bit disappointed in him. However, when chatting further I started to think that maybe I was being judgemental, and perhaps if someone was on a ship for months and months at a time with all men, that maybe when they got to port they would need some female... uhhh... screwing... whatever.

Anyway, is this fairly common? If so, I guess I would feel better and understand why he would "purchase" a whore. If someone wants to post or PM me anonymously, that's ok... like I said, I won't know who you are and won't judge... i'm just trying to find out if this is something that is considered normal to do (I'm thinking it might also be legal in certain places too, like Thailand or those areas).

Well, it's certainly not UNcommon... and it's legal in most places outside the USA.

well im not in the navy, but i could certainly empathize with the man, kinda...
months at sea, cheap bootie, and anonymity. a shot of rocephin everyonce in a while. and i could also see the peer aspect of it, its like something seamen do, rite of passage type of thing, if your buddys do it... im sure if you talked to any old sea dog hed tell you he had his share of wild nights in port, but that was a different life,
Its like when you deploy or go over seas, you take on a different life/personality. Coping mechanism i guess. service member tend to distance them selves, rather than involve to cope with life abroad.
Generally speaking he left the person you know, and will come back the person you know to a certain extent.

just pick up where you left off and don't worry about the things hes done.
I've got so many storys that i don't tell people, that would drop jaws, nothing carnal, just personal things. and things civilians could never understand, or want to hear about.
just understand that hes still the person that you knew when he left.

Maybe years ago there were no women on ships. The times have a changed lil lady... oh, what's the ole adage, "walk a mile in my shoes"....then... you can judge. I did my time in another service, but I have bunches of Navy friends. Just look the other way in this blokes case.

even with women on ships, it still common. Generally speaking, most of those hookers look a lot better than most navy women.

Never done that myself (never had to ) and only know one person who ever did (and "paid" for it with a gift that keeps on giving). I can imagine it is not as common as it usd to be in the old days when P.I. was a routine stop.

i spent 6 years in the navy, 4 of it on a ship that spent 6 to 8 months away from home port. going to hookers in other countries was extremely common. its not like we would spend months at sea, in fact the longest i was ever at sea without going into port was 3 weeks. it is however pretty cheap to get a piece in most other places and we like pussy.

While in South Korea, as you exited the base through be gate, there was a big box of condoms by a window - free. You would just reach in and grab a handful to supply your needs for the night/weekend.

I directed this to military guys since I figured they'd have more access to this in foreign places where perhaps it wasn't illegal like it is here. I don't know how many US guys (or how many broke skydivers... hahahahaha) make it to places in the far East or Mid East or countries over there. Anyway, based on the responses here I guess it's relatively common. BTW it was quite a few years ago back when there weren't women on the ships.

Someone suggested I supply some stories of my naughty behavior from the past (or present...) but then I'd be giving this certain skygod some fuel for the fire... so I'll save those stories for another "anonymous" post at another time.

Haha this reminds me of a story when I was in the Marines. Me and a couple buddies from highschool all joined the Marines and ended up in southern california for just one weekend. So naturally we took the opportunity to go down to tiajuana for an evening of pillaging.

Anyhow we're bar hopping and end up in this dingy assed strip club where it SHOULD HAVE been dark enough to make the women pretty. It was f'n dark as hell and the women were still fugly. It got to the point where I was having a difficult time telling whether these strippers were even female so I convinced my buddies it was time to go.

On the way out this Mexican who didn't speak any english grabs my arms and says,"you want girls?"" You got girls?", I ask. "Yeah man. You wanna see girls." "Are you talking about strippers?" "No man.....putas."

So I turn to my buddies and tell them this guy wants to take us to see some hookers and one of my buddies says,"fuck yeah let's go." I tell him," Dude I'm not banging any hookers but if you want to go we'll go." "Yeah! Let's go!"

So the guy tells us to follow him which we do. At this point he takes us on a 10 minute long tour of TJ's dark alleys. There was a surprising amount of people just hanging out in these dark alleys. Thinking we're going to get jumped, I was on edge and watching our backs. I'm not exageratting one bit....10 f'n minutes of walking dark assed fucking alleys!

When we finally get there I was so busy watcfhing our backs that I actually run into one of my buddies."Why are we stopped," I asked. "We're here," my friend replies as he points across the street. I look where he's pointing and see at least 50 women lined up on a wall. There are people all over and the street lamps are'nt working so it's dark as hell, and just plain terrifying for three 18 year old Marines.

So I turned to my buddy and say," Ok you brought us all the way out here now pick one and do your thing so we can get the fuck out of here." He just looks at me as if to say fuck that...let's get the fuck out of here now.

I confirm what I thought and apologize to the little Mexican dude for wasting his time then ask him how we get back to the strip. He points at a street corner and then tells us to go right. Sure enough...this guy walks around the dark alleys for 10 f'n minutes and only took us one block over.

The rest of the evening went off without a hitch with mass beer consumption and dancing with hotties. Even had my head up some chick's shirt while on the dance floor at some point which was awesome ...come on I was 18 for fucks sake!

However, we didn't get laid and didn't bang any hookers but I'm not going to lie and say I wouldn't have if the dude took us to a classy joint and I found the winner to the latest Salma Hayek look-a-like contest.

i'm an army wife and perhaps it's not my place to state my opinion since you're requesting info from military guys but everyone is entitled to their opinion.

if you're single behaving in this manner - i sure hope you're using protection.

if you're not single, meaning UNavailable, that's just flat out gross. why can't you think with your head above your shoulders for once and think of the person or people you will be hurting and the consequences involved.
