councilman24 37 #8 August 11, 2008 The Air Zoo stopped flying most of their airplanes several years ago when the insurance took a big jump. For a couple of years some local pilots sponsored the insurance on one or two trainers but I think that has even stopped. Most of the planes are pickled for static display. I packed for most of the pilots that flew the Air Zoo's planes and packed the museums parachutes for the volunteer ride alongs. The Air Zoo still has some flying events from time to time but usually(always?) with privately owned airplanes. I still pack for a bunch of warbird pilots in the area. It's a shame that the Air Zoo's planes aren't flying. There is a smaller warbird museum in Valparazo IN that does fly a lot of theirs. I also pack for them. I'm not sure how they can do it when the Air Zoo can't.I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
