selbbub78 0 #1 July 24, 2008 Hey Guys, I'm at a friend's place right now. Last time i was here, i had the wireless connection working fine. I had to delete the profile, and NOW i'm getting a low connection or no conductivity error message. My friend said that she didn't have the wireless working with their computer before, and thought it was odd that I had connection. I think I did something different/right, and now i don't know how to get it again!! Synapse 0 #4 July 24, 2008 Maybe you were connected to a neighbors wireless connection last time and didn't realize it? If you're showing a low signal strength now and you are close to your friends wireless router, then I'm almost positive that you aren't linked up to it. I'm guessing then that you are certainly on the neighbors. So I guess I'm answering with questions then aren't I... - Is your friends wireless connection working for her? - If yes, is it a secured connection that does not broadcast the SSID? - If yes, take a look at her settings to get the SSID and passphrase to get on... once you've entered this on your end, you should be good to go. If all else fails, enroll in the Offensive Security class to learn to use BackTrack and hack the f'ing wireless signal! -syn They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. - Benjamin Franklin

My friend's wireless is NOT working for her. That's what i meant when i stated she hasn't been able to get wireless. It didn't work for her last time when I was using hers with no problems though too. It's after that I put in the passphrase that I get the low/no conductivity message. Can I take the offensive security class now!!! stitch 0 #8 July 24, 2008 See if they have a manual or instruction sheet for the device, If they aren't using it for wireless, then it probably isn't configured correctly."No cookies for you"- GFD "I don't think I like the sound of that" ~ MB65 Don't be a "Racer Hater"
selbbub78 0 #9 July 24, 2008 ya i think you may be right. Someone else set it up for them, and i doubt they have a manual around. I just saw that there was no IP addy assigned to it... ...sorry, should have done my homework first... ...i'll play with it. Thanks for your guys help though!"Women fake orgasms - men fake whole relationships" – Sharon Stone "The world is my dropzone" (wise crewdog quote) "The light dims, until full darkness pierces into the world."-KDM
stitch 0 #10 July 24, 2008 That is more than likely the problem. Tom Aiello had a router set up last fall. My computer could "see" it but couldn't connect. imthegerm 0 #12 July 24, 2008 Hello there-I work in Technical Support for a huge provider-i would first reset the router by pulling the power cord out-make sure all the lights go out-keep unplugged for at least 5 seconds-plug it back in-then if that doesnt work-unplug the coax and the power supply to the modem-plug them back in-that should do it-let me know that doesnt work!! SuFantasma 0 #13 July 26, 2008 I am confused, how did we arrive at the conclusion that there is a cable modem involved? 1) Is the ISP bill paid?
