hottamaly 1 #1 July 23, 2008 I've never been on a cruise let alone Alaska and want to do it right. Have you been and what would you recommend? I want it to be very memorable as this only comes around very rarely. I'm planning on going next May. Help We do the week long inside passage every year...as with most cruises you spend the majority of time on the boat even though there are quite a few stops...so buck up and pay the extra for a balcony cabin at the stern...higher up the better. We spend much of the time kickin'it on the patio with a bottle of wine. You'll have a fantastic view of the wilderness on both side of the ship...bring a good pair of binoculars and a camera. ~ If you choke a Smurf, what color does it turn? ~

Fly in the sea-plane and land in the middle of nothing-but-everything-ville. White-water raft during an earthquake. I'm a tropical girl, but by far my most favorite vacation ever and most memorable is Alaska. Go. Go. Go! Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back. TheBachelor 5 #5 July 24, 2008 I took an inside passage cruise on Celebrity Cruises last year. Best vacation I've ever been on. We fished for halibut and salmon. Did a whale watching trip, and took a helicopter that landed on a glacier. Everything was a blast. We researched our excursions, and in most cases, booked them directly, instead of paying the cruise line to book them for you. If you book them yourself, just make sure you can get a refund if for some reason you can't make it (the ship is late, can't get off the ship, etc.) None of that happened to us, though. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...

woady 0 #7 July 24, 2008 www.cruisesonly.com Good source of information about the ships, trips, days at sea, days at ports (even hours at port), other people's ratings, etc etc. Once you find the cruise you want search around different sites like expedia.com, travelocity.com, etc to find the best deal. The further out you book it the better the price, unless you book it within the week of (they do big discounts right before the trip to try and fill rooms and maximize their earnings, however, you don't get the best rooms possible.) I've been on a few cruises and recommend any well rated cruise, you really can't go wrong. Good luck! You know what's similar between Cops and Firefighters? They both wanna be firefighters. PLFXpert 0 #9 July 25, 2008 I recently played around with the cruiseline section of Expedia and it seems like a decent way to compare boats, boat ratings, prices, port-stops, activities on the boat, etc. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back. Casie 0 #10 July 25, 2008 with this being your first cruise and you're not sure if you'll get sea sick - don't forget to bring along some motion sickness pills just in case. gimpy and i went on our first cruise to the bahamas a little over a year ago - we luved it. i had to take motion sickness pills everyday but still had fun - you get used to it and after a few days it doesn't seem to bother you as much. i think i noticed it more in the restaurants which were in the middle of the ship. regardless you'll have a blast so take lotsa photos ~Porn Kitty WARNING: Goldschlager causes extreme emotional outbursts!
