ChasingBlueSky 0 #27 January 18, 2005 QuoteWait a minute.... $14.99 a month to play..... How much to buy the damned game? /loves gaming but fuck that... Yea, it was reallly a hard choice for me as well. I've watched my roommate play City of Heros for months on end and he seems to get his money's worth from that. Everyone said that WoW was even better. I did my research and read just about every good and bad review on the game. I was getting tired of playing Counterstrike Source into the ground and needed something new to get me thru the winter. I made some changes in some luxury items I don't use anymore and that allowed me to use the cash. I will be canceling my account once the weather clears and we can jump again. I tell you what - I should move to CA and get into the gaming industry - those f*ckers know how to make ca$h!_________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... wildcard451 0 #30 January 18, 2005 True. I mean I have been looking for a new game for a long time, and I will need one that I can actually play for just an hour or two and get something done. The more I research it, the more I actually feel like trying it out. I could prolly pawn off a few things around here to try it out. But that will remain to be seen. I loved Diablo, played the hell out of CS, but now am really bored with both of them. Maybe I will be weak and swing by somewhere tonight and give it a try. wildblue 7 #33 January 18, 2005 QuoteOk...ya gota tell me...how do you play UO for free???? Not playing on an 'official' server. People set up their own UO servers. You use the same client, you just don't have to pay every month.it's like incest - you're substituting convenience for quality

The only things a lvl 70 SK is going to fight on EQLive are Giant Crickets. Plus, you give a noob a level 70 anything and by the time they figure out how not to get killed, they'll have de-levelled back to 25. - Z "Always be yourself... unless you suck." - Joss Whedon
ChasingBlueSky 0 #35 January 18, 2005 QuoteFreakin' love this game! So does everyone at my work - not only do I play at night, but our lunch hour is now spent playing too Addictive!! Watch out! Je It dawned on me last night that my lappy might be powerful enough for it. Therefore if/when I am on the road I can play it. I was surprised at just how low the system requirments were. The game does look sweet in 1280*1024 (I'm running a BFG Nvidia 6600GT OC with an XP2000+ CPU). It'll be interesting to see how it looks when my new 3200+ arrives._________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... Yea - we need to pick a server and pair up. A Skydiver/DZ.com guild sounds like a fun time. We might have to start new characters, but we should level up faster if we are in a group. Besides, it's probably the only time I would ever be on the same team as an Airspeed member I was kicked off Dragonbain a few times last night, so maybe we should pick a low population server? I read last night that they gave everyone with an account 48 hours of free play due to the server issues over the last week._________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... You are looking for used copies? Careful on that Blizzard is strict with those Auth Codes. I got mine at Fry's for less than $50. The first 30 days are free._________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I WILL fly again..... Slappie 9 #45 January 19, 2005 QuoteAnyone know where I can gank 2 copies of WoW? Amazon won't have any until next month! Blizzard is holding copies back, so they can continue to work out the kinks in their servers. I commend them and damn them at the sametime. I've seen copies all over here in Houston, Best Buy, Fry's, CompUSA, even Walmart and Target had copies. Just go to town and check out your local "geek store" and grab a couple copies. I won't be joining the crowd for awhile.. sticking to my guns and not logging into another MMO for awhile. I don't know what "awhile" is going to mean. Maybe a month, maybe 3 could be never... I kinda took a vacation from skydiving too.. was going to take 3 months off and it's turned into a couple of years "Find out just what any people will quietly submit to and you have found out the exact measure of injustice and wrong which will be imposed upon them." ChasingBlueSky 0 #48 January 19, 2005 QuoteBlizzard is holding copies back, so they can continue to work out the kinks in their servers. I commend them and damn them at the sametime. I contacted them Monday morning for help when I couldn't get into the servers, I thought I'd pass on what their tech support is like: QuoteHello, Thank you for contacting the Blizzard Billing department regarding your account. Unfortunately, due to the high volume of traffic of the holiday season, we have encountered reports of customers who are experiencing issues with their billing and account management or game access. We apologize for the inconvenience and are working hard to resolve issues preventing these users from enjoying World of Warcraft. One of the highest priorities at Blizzard Entertainment is to constantly improve and maintain the stability of the World of Warcraft servers to address current issues and forestall future issues. We are constantly striving to achieve a greater game play experience, and we dedicate ourselves to providing the best value to our customers. Occasionally servers will be taken down to update software or to make changes or enhancements to the hardware. If we find any problems that could contribute to server crashes, splits, or security breaches that could allow cheating, we will be taking action in order to prevent that. We understand that these can be inconvenient when they conflict with your play schedule. We do apologize that you have not been able to access the servers when you wanted to. Also, we are currently analyzing the possibility of allowing users to move their character(s) to less populated servers. We do not have an estimated time of when we will be able to provide such a solution, but we would like to emphasize that we will try to provide this solution as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience and understanding in this, and we will be doing everything we can to ensure that your game experience in Azeroth is enjoyable, reliable, and fair. We have carefully calculated and compared the number of servers we have online versus the number of subscribers playing the game. After doing this, we have determined that we have enough servers capable of handling the number of subscribers currently playing the game. However, we do apologize that the server you are reporting about has a queue; we fully support allowing customers to choose what server they would like to play on and your server happens to be a highly populated server. We are currently analyzing the possibility of allowing users to move their character(s) to less populated servers. We do not have an estimated time of when we will be able to provide such a solution, but we would like to emphasize that we will try to provide this solution as soon as possible. Please be sure to visit our community web site at http://www.worldofwarcraft.com for updates. Because of these recent server issues, Blizzard is extending all World of Warcraft accounts by 48 hours. Please note that this extension will be added to the end of any subscription that may already be active on your account. This addition should be reflected on your account shortly. We apologize for any inconvenience and assure you we are working hard to resolve the problems. The Billing team does not compensate (monetarily or with free game time) for any in-game losses or situations. Any in-game compensation is done by and at the discretion of the GM department. Billing does not mediate anything in-game.
