cloudseeker2001 0 #106 June 9, 2008 Quote Life By The Drop by Stevie Ray Vaughn Yeah, that's a good one too. Check out Doyle Bramhall Sr. version as well.....he was good friends with SRV and they worked this song out together. I have met Dolye a few times after shows and he is a great guy. flyawaygirl78 0 #107 June 9, 2008 Quote The guy singing it Weighed about 350 pounds and played a ukelele. It looked like it was a postage stamp on the side of a semi-trailer. The song and the National Anthem were played back to back. It was said it was Eloys wake up call before coming to Quincy too.By the way you could tell who were veterans, because we alone stopped talking stood up and saluted when our Anthem was played My personal favorite was by Simon and Garfunkle "Like a bridge over troubled waters" as it was played at a dear friends funeral. It brings back many memories . With a tear and a grin going at the same time. Should have clarified that by saying that the song doesn't simply make me cry because of the lyrics, its the wonderful memories (happy and sad) that accompany the song when I hear it "Sex.... It's just like cuddling - only damper." Flying Hellfish#695 Muff Brother#3885 Rodriguez Brother#1526-Tronca Rodriguez

I'll have to check that out. I used to go see Doyle Jr. a lot when I lived in Austin, but I don't think I've heard much of Doyle Sr.'s stuff. And I was fortunate to see SRV play live one time, though I have to admit that I hardly knew who he was at the time.
Leapinglizardto 0 #110 June 10, 2008 & these: "Why They Call It Falling" It's like jumpin It's like leapin It's like walkin on the ceilin It's like floatin It's like flyin through the air It's like soarin It's like glidin It's a rocket ship you're ridin It's a feelin that can take you anywhere So why they call it fallin Why they call it fallin Why they call it fallin I don't know There was passion There was laughter The first mornin after I just couldn't get my feet to touch the ground Every time we were together We talked about forever I was certain it was Heaven we had found So why they call it fallin Why they call it fallin Why they call it fallin I don't know But you can't live your life Walkin in the clouds Sooner or later You have to come down It's like a knife Through the heart When it all comes apart It's like someone takes a pin to your balloon It's a hole It's a cave It's kinda like a grave When he tells you that he's found somebody new So why they call it fallin Why they call it fallin Why they call it fallin Now I know Ooh, why they call it fallin Why they call it fallin Blessed Music by Elton John Lyrics by Bernie Taupin Hey you, you're a child in my head You haven't walked yet Your first words have yet to be said But I swear you'll be blessed I know you're still just a dream your eyes might be green Or the bluest that I've ever seen Anyway you'll be blessed And you, you'll be blessed You'll have the best I promise you that I'll pick a star from the sky Pull your name from a hat I promise you that, promise you that, promise you that You'll be blessed I need you before I'm too old To have and to hold To walk with you and watch you grow And know that you're blessed Years faded photographs the feelings all come back even now some times you feel so near and I still see your face like it was yesterday it’s strange how the days turned into years years of hanging on to dreams are already gone years of wishing you were here after all this time you’d think I wouldn’t cry its just that I still love you after all theses years night time gently falls another day is gone I turn around to find your still not here I leave the hall light on in case you come back home funny I’ve been saying that for years years of hanging on to dreams are already gone its a wishing you were here after all this time you’d think I wouldn’t cry its just that I still love you after all these years after all these----- yearsIt's pretty pathetic when you have to TELL people you're fucking cool Skymama «narrative»This thread will lock in 3..2.. tbrown 26 #111 June 10, 2008 Actually, Dylan's "Forever Young", almost any good version by any good band or singer. The Rod Stewart version is on the memorial vid for the Perris Otter crash. My personal tear jerker version is Neil Young, singing at the 1991 Bill Graham Memorial concert in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park. Neil was backed up by The Grateful Dead and Jerry played a very restrained and poignant guitar lead. It's forever burned into my memory by my own brother's death from cancer at the time. A real shame that performance isn't commercially available, but then such are the joys of bootleg collecting. Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity ! I have those lyrics throughout my son's first year photo album. :) I love listening to Planet Waves and those two versions back to back.
