RALFFERS 0 #1 June 28, 2008 This is the first time I ever noticed something like this... I've been sitting here, reading the recent Elsinore incident thread - and I noticed that after only a few seconds of staring at the screen, my eyesight gets very, VERY blurry. If I look away from the screen it goes away (I only notice it a tad bit.) I've tried looking at the screen again a few times, and every time it gets to the point that my vision is impaired to a good degree. Obviously, I need to go to a eye doctor to get my prescription checked - I will do this tomorrow as early in the day as possible. However, what concerns me is the sudden onset of whatever this is and the severity of it. Any ideas??Dialogue/commentary between Divot, Twardo & myself - "from your first Oshkosh when the three of us were riding to or from one of

RALFFERS 0 #7 June 28, 2008 No, none at all. It very well could be that I was just tired last night. Nonetheless I'll still go to the doc; it's time for my routine checkup anyway.Dialogue/commentary between Divot, Twardo & myself - "from your first Oshkosh when the three of us were riding to or from one of
peregrinerose 0 #8 June 28, 2008 Is it only up close that things get blurry? Could be that you're a little bit farsighted and just now starting to notice it (the older you get, the less you can compensate for it, and one day, you wake up, and just can't see all that well up close any more). Could be a bit of dry eye, mild allergies... the way you describe it doesn't sound like any of the horrible things in life that can affect vision. Take a deep breath, relax, and see your eye doc, but don't panic until the doc gives you a reason to. Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda
RALFFERS 0 #9 June 28, 2008 Could a person have both deficiencies? I already wear a light Rx to see things at a distance (I only have difficulties seeing letters.) I'd hate to have to wear glasses for seeing things up close now as well. I'm not gonna worry about it just yet; just gonna go to the oc and see what he says. For now though...I'm going back to bed. Snowwhite 0 #10 June 28, 2008 what do you mean "as a child"? Does that mean that my current masturbation has nothing to do with my glaucoma? Gee! THATS GREAT NEWS!! skydiver30960 0 #11 June 28, 2008 How much time to you spend in front of the computer per day? How much time have you spent in front of the computer during the episode when this stuff started? My first guess would be some kind of eye fatigue. Where's peregrinerose? Elvisio "come out come out wherever you are" Rodriguez
rwieder 0 #12 June 28, 2008 Quote DISCLAIMER. I am no optomotrists, but i've experienced these identical symptoms. I went to my Optomotrist and we decided to do the lens inplants. (No Biggie, Twilight Anathesia) Fixed it. I can now land my canopy without any RX glasses! All BS aside, i would make an apointment with my optomotrists. An early diagnosis will really save your ass. peregrinerose 0 #13 June 28, 2008 It could be eyestrain, a decompensating phoria, accommodative dysfunction, or a few other things too. Do wearing the glasses while you are on the computer make your symptoms better or worse? Is it one eye or both? If both, I'd be more inclined to thing something benign like everything I'd mentioned so far. Let us know what you find out though! And just in case the other doc that posted is right, maybe you should hold off on masturbating for a while Do or do not, there is no try -Yoda

aresye 0 #18 June 28, 2008 I strongly urge any of you with glasses to read the information at http://www.iblindness.org. It's a completely free site, with a community message board. Read up on what glasses really do to your eyes, and discover a way to regain most, if not all of your natural eyesight. I was very skeptical at first, but in order to secure my contract to BUD/S back in 06, I had to improve my unaided sight somehow. With the techniques on the site, I was able to improve my eyesight from 20/95 in both eyes, to 20/35 in both eyes. I also have my eyes occasionally register 20/20 throughout the day. Don't get glasses. They only make your eyesight worse, which is why you need to keep going back every year or so, and get a stronger prescription.Skydiving: You either learn from other's mistakes, or they'll learn from yours. JoeyRamone 0 #23 June 28, 2008 Sounds to me like you have a detached retina. I just lost 80% vision in my right eye because I did not go to the doctor ASAP. I also have one in my left eye but not as bad surgery next week on that one. The surgery on my right eye had me down for 2 weeks and 6 weeks of pain get it looked at ASAP. Google it. RALFFERS 0 #24 June 28, 2008 I just got back from the doc...and...thankfully everything looks normal. He ran a whole bunch of tests (WAY more than usual) and his conclusion was that it must a fluke, or I was just tired. However, he did say that if it ever happens again I'm to come back right away. The additional good news is, although I need a stronger prescription for my glasses it's not bad enough to need right away - was told I could come back for it whenever I have a minute. Nice to know that my vision hasn't worsened much at all over the year & 1/2 that I didn't have an exam. In the meantime I'm going to start utilizing the Bates method mentioned earlier & also get into juicing in an effort to be on a healthier diet.Dialogue/commentary between Divot, Twardo & myself - "from your first Oshkosh when the three of us were riding to or from one of
