Found credit cards

Recommended Posts

Welp another thread got me thinking about this, and I wonder how many people out there would do the same.

One day while getting ready to board a plane in Tampa I was walking up to the Kiosk to check in for my flight. I saw that the previous preson had left their credit card in the kiosk. I quickly returned their card to them. Needless to say they were happy.

Would you/have you ever done the same?

It would be returned if I could find the owner and personally hand them the card. If not, then it would be effectively destroyed and flushed.

+2. Stealing from people is the worst thing ever. It can destroy a persons life.

I had a lady once who was already in her car and started backing out. I was at the atm and it was asking me if I would like to get my card back or if I wanted another transaction.
>:(:)
I got the card back and ran to her car yelling as she drove away.

I wouldnt even have to think about that! As a person who has had my credit cards stolen, I would break my neck trying to return the card to the owner. If I couldnt find the owner, I would call the credit card company to report my find and then destroy the card...

About 2 months ago, I had a similar experience, except it was the drive-thru ATM. The person was already going down the road.

I pulled out the card. Did my transactions and then looped around thru the drive-up window. I gave the teller the card and said, "There is a panicked person who will be looking for this later."

Yeah, I'd try. But, heck-I go back to the store when I get too much change back

So do I
I got $10 extra change once, walked about 100 yard trying to justify it to myself, turned around walked back the the shop and handed it back. They thought i was weird

I had that happen to me. They put an item in my bag that hadn't scanned and the cashier didn't notice. They looked at me like I was crazy for coming back.

Honesty at all cost.

I have gone as far as to tell the butcher at the supermarket that they tagged the expenisve rack of lamb as ground beef.

The store policy would have let me go right up there and get a $17/lb product for 3 dollars a pound. But it was some ones honest mistake that they would have had to deal with, and it just isn't right.

A couple weeks ago I walk past an ATM that is beeping constantly. Seems someone had left their card in it. So I just stood by and waited for the machine to suck the card back in and store it as they are designed to do.

I used to work at a gas station/convenience store, and people would forget cards all the time. Most of the employees would put a little note on the card, saying the date/time it was found/left, and then it would be taped to the cash register so all the other employees knew about it in case someone comes looking.

I, however, was famous for leaping over the counter, dashing out of a store full of customers, and chasing cars across the little town.

I found a wallet one day, and although it didn't have any credit cards, it had a debit card, and a kids high school ID card. I looked up his family in the phonebook, and called every one with that last name until I found him.

And it's all because I'd hope someone would do the same for me if ever I needed it. Do onto others, right?

Karma - need I say anything more. Always good to be at the PLUS side of karma! ;)

Nope I'd go on a shopping spree at walmart. I kid but honestly what did you expect people to say? :S

I once found a purse in the parking lot of the complex I live in. Looked through it and found a drivers license with the home address being in my complex. So I returned it to her and she just looked at me like I was weird. I tried to explain where I found it but she didn't speak any english. Didn't even say gracias. [:/]

I would have returned the card to them, absolutely.

When I was going to school in Boston I went to a mall thing with some of my classmates. I needed to get some cash from the ATM and had to wait for a man to finish. He walked away after he got his money but was still 'logged in' to his account. I alerted him that he was still in his account and he then logged out.

Anyone could have easily withdrawn from his bank account and no one would have ever known.

I understand, it does not always manifest in the way we would like to but I do think some sorta of balance is there. Think of it more like paying it forward or doing the right thing if you will. Being nice is not a bad thing as a few might think! :P
