Nightingale 0 #28 June 11, 2008 Sure, the neighbor might be currently unfriendly, but an act of kindness and a reasonable offer can go a long way, and friendly neighbors are wonderful things to have.

JohnRich 4 #31 June 12, 2008 Quoteit is a light wieght aluminum cap installed by one of the previous owners, from a practical standpoint there is no way he know the cap was not properly attached So it's fair to say that he had no way of knowing that it was attached in an inadequate manner and could blow off. So he is not personally negligent. But that doesn't relieve his insurance company from responsibility - in fact, that is the very purpose of such insurance - to cover damages when things go wrong. Andy9o8 2 #34 June 12, 2008 Quote Quote Do what they do when a plane crashes. File a law suit naming the owner, builder, chimney maker, caulk manufacturer, electrican, brick mason and anyone else you can think of. You should come out of this ok. ...and don't forget John Doe 1 through 10. You forgot the owner of the land from which the clay (to make the bricks) was harvested, and the guy who operated the backhoe. You laypeople are such lightweights.
