flr169 0 #1 June 7, 2008 my problem..... I deleted my poker stars program from the lap top.. now the shortcut on the desktop wont delete... cannot find this item this is no longer located in c:\users\public desktop. verify the items location and try again. poker stars type:shortcut size"863 bytes date modified:5/29/2008 6:57 pm Now the second short cut that i cant get rid of is located .....when I hit the key with the windows symbol a window opens that gives me access to all programs and others with short cuts above the all programs button.... there is another poker stars short cut there... I need to get rid of this on also... Now the biggest reason is it's the girlfriends laptop . I cant leave evidence of poker on her laptop... she arrives home in a few hours from vacation any and all help is greatly appreciated MikeLife's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting - "fcuk me what a ride!" mnealtx 0 #2 June 7, 2008 Right-click and drag the icon to the recycle bin. Go to users\*username*\ and search around for the start menu folder - I don't have vista at work so I don't recall WHERE it is exactly. Conversely, right click in the start button and see if you can get to advanced options - from there you should be able to delete the program link in the menu. Good luckMike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706

mnealtx 0 #5 June 8, 2008 Quotei get the same message when I drag and drop the shortcut into the recycle bin.... damn thing trying your other suggestion now It looks like some process is locking the pokerstars icon. Restart the machine - press F8 as it's starting to boot up and select 'safe mode'. That *should* let you delete the icon from the desktop.Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. bjjman 0 #6 June 8, 2008 Do what I did 5 years ago and buy Mac OS X. Problem solved. Took a little getting used to for the first couple weeks, but I loathe having to use Windows now because of how complicated everything is. I'll never go back, unless Microsoft ever releases a better OS than Macintosh."Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds." -Albert Einstein
