SkydiveStMarys 0 #76 February 10, 2008 I just think that a kid should get suspended for fighting back. Suspend the kid that threw the first punch. Thats the way it was back when I went to school and we didn't have the school violence that they do now because they make the kids stuff their emotions in. I DO appreciate you insight and your kind words...always have always will.Bobbi A miracle is not defined by an event. A miracle is defined by gratitude. SkydiveStMarys 0 #77 February 10, 2008 Exactly "the real" world. Exactly what my SO said to the principal last night on the phone. Do one thing at school but in the "real" world do something else. What kind of mixed message does that send the kid? BobbiA miracle is not defined by an event. A miracle is defined by gratitude.

SkydiveStMarys 0 #85 February 12, 2008 Just an update: The school will be pressing charges against both boys. The bruises were significant enough and three kids testified and basically said exactly what my son stated in his statement. Since the school is pressing charges I won't be. My son may have to appear in court but he says he can handle that and doesn't want any other kids to be treated the way he was by these boys. I'm proud of him and extremely happy as to how swiftly the school has handled this situation. BobbiA miracle is not defined by an event. A miracle is defined by gratitude. warpedskydiver 0 #87 February 12, 2008 Beat the crap out of the parents, shit rolls down hill. To bad the 1960's are over, because back then it would have worked. Now the offenders parents would sue,and play the victim role.

iluvtofly 0 #89 February 12, 2008 I'm glad to hear the situation is being taken care of. Durning Jr. High there was a short period of time when I was being constantly threatened by the girl with the locker next to mine. I would get threatening notes on a regular basis, most with band-aids attached saying I was going to be needing those. Naturaly I took them to my parents and they took them to the principal. The principal said there wasn't much he could do except talk to her until there was actual physical violence. At that time I was advised to just stand up and take it. If I were to fight back in anyway I would get suspended as well...even if it was in blatent self-defense. Fortunately for me though nothing came of it physically. iluvtofly 0 #93 February 12, 2008 She wasn't worth getting suspended for. I didn't need that on my record for someone like her. Everyone knew I would win. I was 6 inches taller and outweighed her by at least 40 pounds.

LisaM 0 #97 February 12, 2008 QuoteAlso make sure your kid knows that if he is going to hit someone then make sure he does a good job of it...a single punch is most probably going to infuriate the opponent...get him on his arse unable to fight back then it shows everyone that the bully has lost My martial arts school teaches us that a good block can stop a fight just as easily as a good hit. ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder? mouth 0 #98 February 12, 2008 I can feel your frustration and believe me those of us in the school systems feel it too. You do something to a black child they cry race and civil rights, you do something to a white child it is reverse descrimination, you do something to a group (class) as a whole then you are picking on everyone....meanwhile, the rude creatures yell at you, refuse to do what you ask of them, and parents back them up. Makes you wonder why we even bother as a nation...all we are raising is a bunch of bullies who think we owe them something and who think that by making others look back it makes them look better. That said good for you for at least trying to teach your child that just because you are able to get the best of someone else it is not always the right and moral thing to do. -- Hot Mama At least you know where you stand even if it is in a pile of shit. SkydiveStMarys 0 #99 February 12, 2008 Oh the best part is that the 6th grader that was suspended from school, for how long ZI have no clue, was hanging around outside our house this afternoon. My SO ended up coming home early. My SO told him to go home, that he had no business being there and the 6th grader proceeded to call him every name in the book and then proceeded to tell my SO that our son was a pu**y. My SO had enough, went to the 6th graders house and proceeded to tell his grandmother to do something about his son. We called the officer who we have been dealing with and he suggested to file a report about this incident and he will take it to the DA with the other report about the bus incident. This kid is going up the river!!! I truly hope he gets the help he needs. To take to an adult that way is inexcusable!!! BobbiA miracle is not defined by an event. A miracle is defined by gratitude.
