PWScottIV 0 #2 June 2, 2008 Try taking 16units of Mechanical Engineering school and working at the same time... That's pain. I typically throw myself out of airplanes when I can't cope anymore... I guess I do it regardless though, so that's a bad example. I'm planning to start hurling myself off cliffs and other random objects soon... Maybe that's a better example. Gravity Waits for No One. micduran 0 #8 June 2, 2008 Talk to some people, get different perspectives on your situation. Seen through the eyes of others might be a way to find your way through. Nightingale 0 #9 June 2, 2008 Talk to your doctor. If your pain is strictly emotional, they can refer you to a professional who can help give you better coping mechanisms than you're currently using. However, sometimes emotional pain is a symptom of something physical, such as an imbalance in your brain chemistry, and there are lots of medications that can be prescribed to help correct that. Even though you may feel that there is no physical cause to your pain, please see your doctor to rule it out, because when your brain chemistry is screwed up, it is very difficult to tell the difference between a strictly emotional issue and an issue with a physical cause. Call your doctor and make an appointment today, and please, tell them it's urgent, and in the meantime, you can give these folks a call: http://www.samaritans.org/ 08457-90-90-
PWScottIV 0 #10 June 2, 2008 He wasn't at all specific about what sort of "pain" he was talking about. Pain is definitely dependent on perspective... In my case, not doing anything but staying indoors all weekend studying for school IS pretty depressing and from my perspective "painful". Therefore, like I recommended, when I feel like that I get out and do something outdoors that makes me feel alive. In my opinion, it's a much more effective method of therapy than any drug or counseling could ever accomplish. I wasn't making a complete joke out of it.Gravity Waits for No One.
