Interesting maneuver by a crow...

Was just out on the back deck of the shop having a cigarette and a couple crows flew past. The closer one stretched his head back, swooped up, then dropped back into a glide...

...who knew that crows did stall surges? B|

Those weren't crows. They're ravens. Ravens are the most aerobatic birds and probably the only one to actually do it just for fun. Especially when trying impress a mate! I've had the pleasure of witnessing such "show offs" a couple times and if I was a a she-raven, I woulda banged him. :D

I just spent the last 15 minutes trying to find a video of the bird's flying ability but sadly (and surprising)there isn't anything out there. Perhaps someone else will have better luck.

They are the coolest and some of the smartest of birds, and they are vital for cleaning up roadkill.
