thirdworld19 0 #1 May 13, 2008 And did you like it? I am in Jordan and in many of the restaurants, lamb's brain is on the menu, so I thought I'd try it. It came either fried or sauteed with garlic and butter. Since everything tastes good with garlic and butter, that's what I had. The garlic was overpowering - hard to tell what it actually tasted like. It wasn't bad, but I need to try it fried now.
BillyVance 34 #2 May 13, 2008 Strangest thing I've eaten? Probably frog legs. tastes just like chicken! "Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban
lawrocket 3 #3 May 13, 2008 I have no idea. I used to frequent those hole-in-the-wall taco shacks in LA. If sesos was on the menu, I found a good joint. So I'd order something on the menu and it was good. Who knows what the hell was in it! My wife is hotter than your wife.
Remster 30 #4 May 13, 2008 I havent had that many really weird food adventures... I've had escargots more times then I can recall, so I dont consider it weird (tho some might). Prairie oysters a few times, lambs balls once in spain, and they were extremelly good. Sweetbreads once, and didnt really care for it. Not that it was bad, but it wasnt that tasty.Remster

Darius11 12 #6 May 13, 2008 Sheep brain is very good. Fried it tastes very good as well very fatty tasting and I would suggest a little fresh limejuice. I have had tong both cow and sheep love it tastes great. In Iran they make tong, feet, Brain as a slow cocked stew that is usually eaten early in the morning. We usually rip bread (lavash) in the juice and let it soak in the tasty juice. I have also had grilled sheep and bull balls. That was ok. I have also had a similar stew made from the inside parts of a sheep. That is very good as well. But who make it always makes a huge difference in the way it is going to taste and be presented. The funny thing is non of that stuff is considered odd there but tell someone you eat a raw clam and they will look at you like you are nuts at least they do in Iran. Different cultures are great if you keep an open mind. Good luck in your food adventures dude and don’t forget the lime.I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

J_Cook 0 #17 May 13, 2008 Not really strange or disgusting, but I've had alligator, rabbit, ostrich, and emu meat, all were delicious. I've also had grasshoppers, was like an odd crunchy potato chip sort of. I can't bring myself to do any of the stomach/entrail/testicle dishes.
beowulf 1 #18 May 13, 2008 yeah I can't spell can II do have spelling correct. Why would they name the band after soup? Oh well I never did listen to them.
madhatter 0 #19 May 13, 2008 Andouillette... I asked my French 'friend' to order a speciality for me whilst in Champagne & that's what I got. Must admit I thought it quite tasty. Never knew exactly what it was until I looked it up now & all of a sudden I'm not sure I want to try it again But it WAS tasty... A VERY MERRY UNBIRTHDAY TO YOU!!! Remster 30 #20 May 13, 2008 QuoteCan't remember what it was now, it's was quite a while ago. We also had raw, maybe cured, ham, I think proscuito(sp)? Well, proscuito is just that: cured ham. Aka jamon Iberico (thats one type) in Spain. Tartare is raw meat (usually beef, but I've had an awesome Lamb Tartare too) that is minced, seasoned, and served raw. Then there is carpacio, which would be very thin slices of raw meat, or fish.Remster
