BillyVance 34 #4 May 10, 2008 Don't think I've ever seen 4 of a kind dealt on the community, but my greatest hand ever was having ace rag as big blind. Three of us in the hand. Flop was A A A. I thought to myself, "oh my"... Since I was last to act, I checked. Turn was 2 or 3. Everybody checked. River was 5. First guy goes all-in, second guy goes all-in. I was sitting here laughing my ass off as I hit call and my quad aces beat a straight and a full house, and took them both out. Come to think of it, I would have been amazed if they were dealt out in a row from the deck, but as all poker players know, one card goes in the muck pile before the flop, turn and river. So in that case the aces were shuffled so they came out A, A, muck, A, muck, and A. Pretty neat to see that on the board though. About once a month, I'll see the flop come out all the same number or letter - 222, 444, KKK, etc... I just haven't seen all 4 on the board like that yet."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban
jcd11235 0 #6 May 10, 2008 The odds of four aces dealt as the 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th cards dealt (note that only your own hole cards count as being dealt, since everyone else's hole cards, as well as the burn cards are unknown to you) is the equivalent to the probability of all four aces being dealt as the first four cards from a deck containing 49 cards, exactly four of which are aces: (4 / 49) * (3 / 48) * (2 / 47) * (1 / 46) = (4! * 45!) / 49! = 1 / 211,876 (probability) = 1:211,875 (odds)Math tutoring available. This particular group doesn't muck a card before dealing the community cards. Yeah I know, it's strange, but that's how they've played for years. So it was, in fact 4 aces in a row. Whatever...I finished just out of the money anyway.

Use of burn cards wouldn't change the odds, since no one sees what the burn cards are. It also doesn't matter how many people are playing, since any single player only sees his own hole cards. Any unseen cards are considered undealt.Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

Darktreader 0 #10 May 12, 2008 once in my life in a 1-2 nolimit live action game I have seen quad aces beaten bya royal flush, We have pictures of table, the river actaully made both hands if I am not mistaken, the case ace on river gave the trip aces -quads as well as the royal flush who was drawing to his royal flush, both players where all in on the turn. It was amazing to see however it was not a very substantial pot I beilive less then 100.00 if I am not mistaken. Thanatos can verify it was at his home game years back."Before we waste time talking and getting to know each other, let's just have sex once and see if we're compatible"
homer 0 #11 May 12, 2008 I was playing in an Omaha H/L tournament and had AAAA in my hand. I’ve been dealt trips in hand more times than I can count but that’s the only time I’ve had quads in hand. I folded the hand after the flop. CSA #699 Muff #3804
