davelepka 4 #1 May 3, 2008 So my son is turning 10 this week, and asked for an MP3 player as a birthday gift. Anyone have any ideas for a good MP3 player for a 10 year old kid? I don't think it needs a ton of storage, and it does need to be tough, and semi-disposable (there's a good chance it will be lost or broken within a few months). Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? davelepka 4 #3 May 3, 2008 Nice jackass. Is that what your dad got you for your birthday? What are you now, 16? 17? How about a real answer to my question. You're supposed to be young and on top of the latest technology.
jumpin_Jan 1 #4 May 3, 2008 I doubt a kid would want a non-ipod but,,, SanDisk Sansa Express 1 GB MP3 Player. under $30USD at amazon.com It can be expanded with microSD memory cards too. (at a cost of shorter run time) I have one and I like it. It's tiny but last 6-8 hours on a charge. I also have a 4Gig Creative MuVo^2 that is gathering dust since I was gifted the Sansa. I'm gonna remove the CF disk drive for my Canon Rebel SLR. PULL! jumpin_Jan"Dangerous toys are fun but ya could get hurt" -- Vash The Stampede

When I turned 10 my dad told me to get a jobSeriously tho, just get the kid an Ipod, you can get the "shuffle" for around $50 bucks and he'll get to go to school with his Ipod instead of the bargin basement variety. Plus when he does loose it thats only like, what, 3 hop + PopsBASE 1384

Bought my nieces and nephews (2 of each) an MPIO for Christmas 2 years ago (the boys were 9 and the girls were 11 at the time). Two of them still use them. The other two have bought something else and have "gifted" the ones I gave them to younger cousins. So far so good (then again, I did tell them that if they broke them, they wouldn't get anything from me again!) http://www.mpioamerica.com/Public/ProductInfo.aspx?pid=230'Shell
Broke 0 #9 May 3, 2008 I kinda like the sony Walkman MP3 players, but the software for it sucks. My son has one of those disney memory card MP3 players. He loves it. Get headphones for it instead of just the ear budsDivot your source for all things Hillbilly. Anvil Brother 84 SCR 14192

TheCaptain 2 #11 May 6, 2008 http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7995459&type=product&id=1155070318430 My wife bought me one for working out (a couple of years ago) and I loved it. It has an expasion port for additional memory and it has a built in FM radio too. I have bought one for my son too. I have since moved on to a larger 80 Gig Ipod classic but my wife still uses my old one. Kirk
