Fireflyer 0 #1 February 8, 2006 I am looking to get a rig on here that looks great, is from another DZ.com member, and there were a dozen prics privided. Its not much, so I was thinking of picking it up for a second rig. Have you always used your rigger to check it out and broker the deal? I did my first this way and it was no issue, but I am currious how trustworthy we all are of each other...
riggerrob 643 #2 February 8, 2006 The only way I would not use my local rigger would be if the reserve was recently repacked by a rigger that you trust. By "recently" I mean within the last month. Any longer than that and you risk expensive damage caused by a bad landing. Find out the name of the last rigger who repacked it, then ask local riggers if they trust the guy/girl. I should have mantioned that I would have my rigger repack it regardless... the rig in question would be shipped to me.
FrogNog 1 #4 February 8, 2006 I prefer to buy things I can look at myself. If a harness/container is damaged in a way I won't notice, chances are pretty good it's reparable at a reasonable cost. -=-=-=-=- Pull.
