DrewEckhardt 0 #26 April 28, 2008 Quote Quote As a few of you know, I plan on going to Colorado at the end of July-beginning of August; thing is, I can't make up my my mind on whether to drive or fly... Don't do it. I did that back in '95 when I was living in IL. Got home in the ugliest mood imaginable, because I had to come back to IL. Solved that problem a year later when I moved. Junior or senior year in highschool I spent my spring break in Colorado, moved there after turning 18, and only went back to Missouri two or three times in the following decade. JohnMitchell 16 #27 April 28, 2008 Quote Most of the country is not worth seeing. Corn field. Corn field. Corn field. A lot of truth to that for some parts of our country. However, a train lets you see the backyards of America, and some of the more industrial, maybe even humble parts of our land, and get a little away from the strip mall sameness of a car trip. Some train trips in this country have scenery that can hold its own with any in the world, though. Up the Pacific Coast, down any of our large river routes, or through the Rocky Mountains are trips that come to mind. Many train trips now are marketed like cruise lines, with food, drink, entertainment and scenery the goal instead of transportation. After all, who takes a train across the country or a ship across the ocean anymore?

I don't know how it is here in the States, but when I was traveling by train in Europe, all the locals told me to avoid the night trips.Dialogue/commentary between Divot, Twardo & myself - "from your first Oshkosh when the three of us were riding to or from one of
