ChromeBoy 0 #51 September 25, 2002 QuoteI remember you posted a while ago about wanting to become a rigger. You ever pursue that all the way? I would like to one day. The amount of time I spend at the dz is very limited these days. I am either working or there to jump on the weekends. After jumping I usually have to do something else so I don't spend a lot of time hanging around the dz learning stuff, etc. I am afraid it will be awhile before that could ever happen but one day it would be nice to have all ratings and know the basis instructing and rigging fundamentals in the sport. How are you doing with it? Are you a rigger yet?
Airhead 0 #52 September 25, 2002 Hey, Phil! Welcome dude! I know the feeling well, too. MY First jump- a tandem- was just July 20! What the others are saying is right...Don't get frusterated trying to exlain to coworkers, etc. about the feeling-the attraction-and later obsession- to skydiving. You really can't explain it. You just have to experience it to understand it. I'm in an Accelerated Freefall program right now. Hoping to grad. before onset of winter- which in Michigan can be anytime! I don't have any really impressive job. Currently I'm a substitute transit driver with the county...Putting in soon to also be a Substitute Elementary School Teacher with the school district...and I (unfortunately) also seem to be a PROFESSIONAL STUDENT working towards my teaching degree! No matter whatcha do the rest of the time...Skydiving helps ya keep your sanity!
