ACMESkydiver 0 #1 April 4, 2008 Hi all! I'm totally open for doing dates like April 5 - July 4th! Hey! The 4th of July is exactly 90 days from tomorrow! Shall we do it like that? End our fit challenge on the 4th of July so we can party and celebrate our success?? -Or you can just keep counting from when I posted last week...I'm cool wit' that, too. I just want to do whatever would help our motivation. SPEAKING of motivation! Check out the attached pic! My mommy did this and gave me the idea. See the pretty colored paper clips? There's one for every pound that I've lost so far! Mommy found cool glitter ones to add whenever she hit a '10', but I couldn't find any. OK OK OK I admit I had a cupcake this morning, but it was small and I had 3 carb blockers with it and I've heard that if you're gonna eat bad carbs to eat them in the morning so you can work 'em off during the day. My ass is going to the GYM!!! And congrats to Squeak for tightening his belt a notch!! Good job, Aussie! Edit to add pic...oopsy! ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
tigra 0 #2 April 4, 2008 I think July 4 is a good ending date- very easy to remember. Besides, I had a boston creme donut this morning- damn boss brings them every Friday!

You had your donut...and I had my cupcake, so tomorrow we can really hit it. I have to get my sore tushy to the gym! Upper body today -not like I have a choice; I think I'd collapse if I tried 1 more squat today! PS...I guess I shouldn't beat myself up too badly. Even without my strict tracking, I'm still only .8 of a pound from my lowest weight so far (I was truly expecting another 3 pound gain perhaps from my slacker habits of the past week and a half). So I guess that's not bad. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
tigra 0 #7 April 4, 2008 I took my sore tush to the gym last night for Boneco Capoeira class- that's a pretty intense lower body workout-cardio with lots of lunging, squatting and kicking. I haven't been this sore 2 days after training in awhile so I wasn't sure that class would be the best thing for me, but all the moving and stretching actually helped. I haven't been this sore 2 days after training in awhile so I wasn't sure that class would be the best thing for me, but all the moving and stretching actually helped. That would be neat to try someday! As it stands, I'm kinda embarrassed to admit, but I stayed away from my step and lift class since taking the first one -first off because I was sick, that coudn't be helped- but yesterday I didn't go just because I'm kind of embarrassed at being the absolute lowest fitness-level person in the class. I'm the most overweight, and the least fit. 65 year old grammas were using weights and I couldn't. I know it's just an immaturity that I really thought I had grown out of that is keeping me from at least trying, but dang it I'll push through and I'll GO to those classes next week! -but I'm still a lil' too embarrassed to try the dance cardio tonight. I just know they're all gonna be size 5 mini-women and the dang class floor is right dead center of the gym with a row of windows opening out to the mall. I am not of strong enough self-esteem to endure that many eyes quite yet! ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. tigra 0 #9 April 4, 2008 OK, first of all, those step classes ARE intense and its perfectly fine to work at your own pace, slow down when you need to, drink water and mop your face as need, etc. Just keep moving, and remember its all downhill after the halfway point, so if you make it that far, you can finish! (actually, I don't take the step classes because to me, compared to my cardio dance classes and the Capoeira, they look totally boring but its the same principle will all those classes.) Don't compare yourself to anyone else and don't assume anyone is looking at you or judging you. They all had to start somewhere and most of them know, it. The ones who pretend they don't? F..... em! They aren't worth your time! Take the dance class tonight, leave your inhibitions at the door, sweat and have a good time!

NWFlyer 2 #12 April 6, 2008 This has been a good week. Back in a regular gym routine, eating well, no binges, no crap food in the house, no late night 7-11 runs, good focus on my goals ... I just wish I had more energy. I'm having to force myself to do everything. I'm back to my doc's office for more tests next week and follow-up the following week, so I can talk to her about the lethargy/fatigue... see if she has any thoughts."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. NWFlyer 2 #14 April 6, 2008 Quote I blew all my good work this week, by eating 2 pizza for dinner Positive spin: you could be in one of two places. You could have eaten crap and not exercised all week and eaten two pizza for dinner. Or you could have worked hard all week and eaten two pizza for dinner. The good work didn't go to waste. It still matters."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. And with it comes the only basic human duty, the duty to take the consequences." -P.J. A couple of things that help me battle fatigue (and it truly is a battle; I nearly fall asleep mid-day almost daily) is increased water intake, and making sure I take my vitamins/meds regularly. BIG difference for me.~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.

For Instance I have noticed that recently have been getting more muscular devlopment, while my pants are getting loser, but I have no net loss of weight. We are looking, specificallly, for 90 days of concerted effort and focus on our health. I need to lose weight...you might benefit from a routine, less sugar, a better BMI. You decide. Take 90 days to focus on your health, and let's see what you can do. Personally, I think the 'Biggest Loser' is interesting, but doesn't 'do' it for me because pounds or % of body weight isn't the be all to end all. The truth is I'm taking my inspiration from what army basic training taught me; that I have the ability to transform my own idea of who I am physically in a short, focused, disciplined period of time. I shocked everyone that knew me, and I'm ready to do it again. It gave me the biggest boost in my self esteem that I've ever had, and I tell you it just carries over to every other area in your life. Set your goal high and work hard for it. That's all I'd love to see from anyone else. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. ladydyver 0 #25 April 8, 2008 I realize I have been absent....but work has a way of getting in the way of the gym....and we left town for a while. Now back and getting in the swing of things. On a positive note I lost 3 pounds while on vacation....don't know if it was the lack of the type of food I like to eat or all of the scuba diving but I am not complaining at this point. As of today I have lost 17 lbs from last July - woohoo! Going to try and hit my 135 mark - we will see if I have any success with that or not.
