lawrocket 3 #1 March 31, 2008 George Takei is back for a week as Howard Stern's announcer. For those of you who have never heard George Takei on the Howard Stern Show, the guy is freaking GOLD! A guy so sweet and forthcoming, opinionated and honest. He really has become a feature I very much look forward to on the show, and he's there until Thursday. Apparently, his long-time partner Brad will be on the show tomorrow - TUNE ME IN. I am somewhat of an irregular listener to the show. The last couple of months, my schedule really has not allowed me to listen too frequently. But I'm gtting back into it this week. Eric the Midget is a comedic genius, whether he intend to be or not. Riley Martin is pissed off again, which is a howl. I mean, I could listen to this guy on the radio forever. But this is not all about Howard Stern. Sure, the guy puts on some very funny things. And I recognize that the most compelling moments are with people like Eric the Midget and Riley Martin - who seem perpetually angry an ungrateful about the opportunities they've gotten from the show. What Howard Stern does best, in my opinion, is give interviews. The guy gives the best interviews with major talent of anyone I've ever heard. His research team must be crack, because he brings up stuff with the guests that is really off the beaten path. Howard Stern fans, speak up! Who is your favorite member of the Wack Pack? Haters? Tell us why you hate him. My wife is hotter than your wife.

ryoder 1,590 #3 March 31, 2008 Do you realize how much trouble I after absorbing the idea you are a HS fan?I believe he is extremely intelligent, but I can't fathom how he can stand to make a career of wallowing in the intellectual gutter. As for George Takei, I had no idea what a hilarious sense of humor he has until I saw him recently doing that Shatner roast, and also poking fun at that homophobic ball player. I never would have guessed it from watching him in ST. "There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. lawrocket 3 #4 March 31, 2008 Part of the reason why I am so intermittent as a listener is that I find myself tiring of much of the banter. But - there are times that are just hilarious. A couple of weeks ago, he had the pimp who was busted by Spitzer on and interviewed him. It was fascinating. A while back, he interviewed Penn Jillette. Howard Stern has that ability to really let the intelligence of his guests come out. I recall how awesome of an interview it was with Penn. They spent a few minutes discussing religion and Mother Theresa. Penn, a libertarian and avowed atheist, spoke of how he previously did not like Mother Theresa because of her statements about feeling closer to god when around human suffering, but gently spoke of the respect he gained for her when she questioned her belief of God. These are the types of moments. Sylvester Stallone, when asked about how his mother is doing, commenting, "Her spaceship just landed so she's home now with me." I really enjoy his interviews, and I enjoy the wack packers. Half the time, I am listening to Raw Dog on sirius, or Sirius Blues. But with Takei in studio all week, I will be listening. Takei is just one of those personalities who is so honest and nice that he, well, fits right in. My wife is hotter than your wife.

ryoder 1,590 #7 March 31, 2008 Quote A while back, he interviewed Penn Jillette. LOVE Penn & Teller! I've rented all the available episodes of "Bullshit!". The only thing that could improve that show is if Penn could tone down the profanity. You never hear Teller talk that way."There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. ryoder 1,590 #9 March 31, 2008 Found Takei's roast of Shatner. It used to be on YouTube, but got pulled. Comedy Central hosted the roast, and has the video. lawrocket 3 #12 April 11, 2008 NEWS: Artie Lange quits the show My wife came in and asked if I had been listening to the show today. I really haven't listened to it this week - just too much going on. She told me Artie got in a furious rage today. They didn't even replay the feed. Now I read that he resigned. Did he really resign? We won't know for a couple of weeks. My wife is hotter than your wife.
jtval 0 #13 April 11, 2008 I didn't listen on thursday either but from the clips form Howard 100 news. It sounds like he was pissed but I have no idea why. JohnnyD 0 #15 April 11, 2008 He didn't resign really. Its complicated. I'm not sure that he'll want to come back or if the show wants him back. Maybe he just needs a break. On top of it all, he's supposed to be in Amsterdam this weekend, so the whole thing will be moot if he od's.
