I'm getting a giggle out of all of the images that probably first resulted on a Google search when you typed in 'pink dolphin'. An' after all these years I'm still pissed off that my mother in law threw out the huge pink dolphin mylar balloon I was gonna mail you because I haven't seen one since. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. kansasskydiver 0 #32 April 7, 2008 hahaha that's great. I remember how sad I was when I got gfd's closing pin and then something else fell out of the package... A coloring book cutout of a pink dolphin. I'm pretty sure I still have it through the move, I kept it taped above my monitor and kept telling my roommate they are real. The pink dolphin sure did help us through the stalker "wild freaky monkey sex" girl... God those were the days. I wonder if he still has the voice mails!!!<--- See look, pink dolphins DO exist! BGill 0 #33 April 7, 2008 Quote Quote I generally don't wear skydiving tshirts to the dz because they're usually made of cotton. I wear loose Under Armour shirts to the dz because I can work up a good sweat on most days and a wicking tshirt is wayyy better than a cotton tee. Would you buy/wear a wicking tshirt with a skydiving related logo/saying on it? There's a million dollar idea, folks - run with it. Sure, why not. (Given that someone can offer one for a decent price, knowing how much performance apparel runs these days).
Unstable 9 #34 April 7, 2008 A couple different things I can think of. 1. Brand Loyalty. Okay, not the best reason in the world, but it's the Truth. I have a few Jumpshack Shirts I wear with pride because they are my company. Part of it is brand arrogance, part of it I think is a desire to be a little different. 2. I usually buy a Jumping TShirt from dropzones, as long as they are original. The corny one's we've seen for years and years I'll never go for, but I have my Industrial Haze Tshirt, I have my Get lucky Boogie Tshirt, and I have my Couch Freaks shirt. I usually buy a Jumping Tshirt because I like to try to support the places I go to, and I know that TShirt Sales help.=========Shaun ==========
pinkfairy 0 #35 April 7, 2008 I just get the ones that fit me, not all of them fit, and most of the ones that I otherwise like are huge men's sizes, and I can't wear big, baggy when I jump. Won't fit under my jumpsuit and doesn't look cool. But the hoodie from my home DZ is a favourite. The design is good, it's comfortable to wear, and it shows that I'm a real, norwegian viking skydiver. Relax, you can die if you mess up, but it will probably not be by bullet. I'm a BIG, TOUGH BIGWAY FORMATION SKYDIVER! What are you?
countzero 7 #36 April 7, 2008 i wear skydiving shirts i have because of the slogans on them. however i usually wear them other places other than the DZ because they're great converstaion starters. which is the same reason i wear concert shirts to the DZ, great converstaion starters.diamonds are a dawgs best friend
Bolas 5 #37 April 8, 2008 I get a T-shirt at every boogie, the local shirt at every new DZ and any I find amusing ontop of any free shirts I might get. I don't buy manufacturer shirts cuz all my gear was bought used. When packing for a boogie, I just grab shirts out of one of the two drawers full I have. I decided to wear every one of my skydiving shirts before I wore any of them again. It took me over a year. Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.

billvon 3,070 #39 April 8, 2008 Generally whatever's on top of the pile. They range from the free shirts you get when you donate blood to extra shirts I've had when I did printing runs for some other reason (like "I TOUCHED CHRISTY FRIKKEN") When I'm working I generally try to use the appropriate staff shirt, although I always seem to have the wrong one. PLFXpert 0 #40 April 8, 2008 Branding (obviously) works whether one is conscious of it or not. The only skydiving T-shirts & tanks I have I don't (never have) wear to the DZ. I didn't know I was supposed to. The only one I used to wear to the DZ and is still one of my favorite shirts (because a beautiful, amazing skydiving friend made it for me) is a blue, white & purple, soft, long-sleeved tie-died T. I still love it! It doesn't say anything. Personally, I can't stand logos. But sometimes professionally & socially, I do wear recognizable brands--but one must know their fashion to know what I'm wearing. Many designers have a signature style--and every season a signature cut or ruffle or line or something. So in a way--in those instances--I'm still saying, "Hey, I'm wearing so-and-so", but ironically I do not like things with logos in your face or other insignia. And generally, I wear what is really worn, soft, pratical & I had a coupon for (or was on sale). Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
DrewEckhardt 0 #41 April 8, 2008 Quote I wear my boogie shirts the most, and then the manufactuer shirts second. Boogie shirts are my first pic tho cause of the memories associated with them Whatever is clean and hole-free. Since I don't shop, that pretty much translates into either 1) A polo shirt my wife got me which is presentable or 2) A T-shirt from an event that was free or included in the registration fee. The first Royal Gorge Go Fast Games schwag bag included four T-shirts and the second one two, so those are definitely way over represented.
PLFXpert 0 #42 April 8, 2008 In addition: When I wear a skydiving something-or-other out, I wear what is least "in your face". I.e. I want to wear something that represents something else that is a part of me, but I don't like to be all, "Hey, look at me! This is what I do! And here is where I've been!" I get that people are often very proud to do what they do and have been to wherever they've been to. But (other than here, ironically) in "real life", I don't often talk about such things unless it's to relate to someone else or my client. I'm usually very private. What I wear out skydiving-wise, mostly, is my favorite hooded-sweatshirt. It's royal blue, soft & worn, and just has a little emblem on the upper-left-hand side that has a skydiving figure & my old home-DZ name. There's nothing on the back--nothing else on the front. One has to be observant to even notice. I LOVE that. Same with a pair of shorts I sometimes wear on the beach or around the house and then often to run out for a quick errand. I really don't care much for things that have big writing or even (like a band T) that have a bunch of dates & events on it. But ironically I do find it pretty cool when I see someone wearing a T-shirt that has some sort of event or place--& maybe a date on it--that I'm familiar with and don't know anyone else that has it or has been there, too. So, what the fuck do I know. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
tbrown 26 #43 April 9, 2008 I still like wearing tie dyes. I hardly wear tie dyes anymore, except for the dropzone, where people still appreciate them. A few are crappy mass produced stuff, but most of them are hand made shirts that I got from the makers at street or country fairs, or (better yet) outside Grateful Dead concerts. Sadly though, some of the best and most beautiful of them are getting old and sprouting holes. Then in the summertime I'll wear them with a bathing suit, which keeps things nice & light underneath a jumpsuit. Also helps anytime I want to fall into the pool at Perris.
