happythoughts 0 #13 April 2, 2008 QuotePolice seized a broken steak knife, handcuffs, duct tape, electrical and transparent tape, ribbons and a crystal paperweight from the students, who apparently intended to use them against the teacher, Tanner said. A paperweight? That could get ugly quick. QuoteThe scheme involved a division of roles, Tanner said. One child's job was to cover windows so no one could see outside, he said. Another was supposed to clean up after the attack. "Clean up" afterwards? That's never a good sign. Quote"From what I understand, they were considered pretty good kids," Martin said. "But we have to take this seriously, whether they were serious or not about carrying this through, and that's what we did." Don't you always here that about serial killers from the neighbors? "Jeffrey was such a polite, quiet boy. Always a good neighbor. He helped my find my cat one time." When you are 8 years old and are carrying a paperweight to pummel the teacher, your future is... Quote "What we have here is... failure.. to communicate. Some men you just can't reach. You take your friend, Luke, here. millertime24 8 #15 April 2, 2008 It actually goes, "What we have here is a failure to communicate. Some men you just cant reach. So you get what we had here last week, Which is the way he wants it...Well he gets it. I dont like it anymore than you men." Nowhere does he actually say "Luke".Muff #5048

BillyVance 34 #19 April 3, 2008 Quote What ever happened to throwing paper airplanes and spitwads at the teacher? Or laying flat-head thumbtacks in the teacher's chair? Okay, I admit it. I did that once, but to a fellow student, not the teacher. The student was an asshole and deserved sitting on it. It took all I had not to notice... JohnMitchell 16 #20 April 3, 2008 Sounds like a pretty smart bunch of kids, cooperating in groups, coming up with plans and delegating tasks. Seriously, that's a disturbed bunch of kids and I'll lay odds they all come from broken homes. We keep boosting each child's "self esteem" in schools whether they earn it or not, and wonder why they become narcissistic little shits with no self discipline. <<<>>>

dannydan 5 #22 April 3, 2008 QuoteWhat ever happened to throwing paper airplanes and spitwads at the teacher? TV, movies and parents that are TOO involved in themselves is why we dont see the paper airplanes and the spitwad punishments reports going home... Not that the reports would be read by these parents anyway!!! We need to ask ourselves "where do these children get the ideas for their duffle bag of goodies"....? Damn right it is scary! But I am afraid that it IS only going to get worse folks.... Some wanna blame Rock n Roll, others want to blame the ERA movement of the 70's, still others want to blame the CIA for delivering drugs by the plane and boat loads to the inner city etc etc and the list could go on and on and on.... We have (as a nation and as a world) a serious problem with OUR children in the fact that they have already been left behind to fend for themselves... So they fill uP on things that are CURIOUS to them. I will be the first to say that TELEVISION is near if not at the top of the list that has done alot of the damage, but only b/c the parents ALLOW it to be a "babysitter" for there kids.... This is a complicated issue for a forum such as this, but our problems today can easily be dissected and traced back to different periods in our nations history..... The BIGGEST problem/QUESTION is not how or why, but WHEN are WE adults going to step uP and say enuf is enuf and get our BIG ASS gvt/politicians out of our lives for every lil thing and take back to the american VALUES of a 1-family and 2- a society of values/morals? And then passing those on down the line to the uP and comers of tomorrow... When both Dad and Mom work and they leave/GIVE their children to someone else, or Dad and Mom seperate/divorce b/c of SELFISH reasons etc , then this kind of behaivor will be normal and creeps into a society a lil at a time.... LIKE IT HAS DONE ALREADY!!! The gvt steps in to "help" and the parents are so thankful for the pompous gesture, that it all becomes so freaking backwards, and to actually turn it around will take a few generations... Its not the gvts fault that WE ALLOW them to takeover! peace and CONSISTENCY, love and discipline.... be with ya'll! :DD

mouth 0 #24 April 4, 2008 Well...you definitely got the parential part right. When parents excuse their child's bad behavior saying the teacher doesn't like the child so he broke into a school, shot at a car, robbed someone, whatever then I place the blame on the parents. -- Hot Mama At least you know where you stand even if it is in a pile of shit.
