I have an dell inspirion 8600 and my hardrive took a shit on me...I need to oreder a new one.... but....I need to know which one to order. HELP!!!

I simpley bought a new (bigger) laptop disk for my Inspiron 9300. Fitted it no problems.

Looks like you need a 2.5" HDD. Here is a link on how to swap it out. http://support.euro.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ins8500/en/8600cr/sm/hdd.htm#1123687 . You can probably put a larger disk in there than a 80 Gb if you want.

2.5 inch laptop drives only come in IDE or SATA. In your case its an IDE.
