URGENT: Jumpers with more than 3 rigs

Recommended Posts

Hi, one of my best friends had a house fire several years ago.

He is now going through settlement and one of the probems he is facing, is that the inurance company claims there is now way he owned five complete rigs and that virually nobody does.

He has the serial numbers and there was hardware found in the rubble, but yet he is being screwed over.

What I ask of any of you who own more than three rigs (hopefully alot more) will please PM me a message stating how many you own, and a way to contact you.

This is an attempt to furnish affadavits to the lawyer who is representing him.

Please help him.

Since he has all the serial numbers, I would think he could get statements from the manufacturers that show him to be the owner of those 5 rigs. Just a thought.

BTW this jumper and longtime friend is a grerat guy and personally known to myself, Rainbo, Gene03, and several other old timers.

This guy is a SEAL and needs your help.

It's about time we help those who have been protecting us for all these years.

I think that is true of all our military personnel.

He has a written statement from the guy who sold him the other four over the years.

But I guess that is not enough to prove people have more than one or two rigs, and that it is common.

Common maybe for teams and staff jumpers(instructors and jumpmasters), not so much for fun jumpers, who make up the majority of jumpers out there. That said, I do have a back-up rig sans main that's worth a few hundred bucks.

Maybe the rigger that has been servicing the kits can provide the proof needed....

Yep, riggers log all their pack jobs... AFAIK

It's a good thing my insurance agent is a jumper (and dz.commer). I'm not sure off the top of my head how many complete rigs we have in the house right now, but I'm guessing 15 or so.

I have three active rigs, my wife's rig, and two others that are assembled, airworthy but rarely jumped. I also have the parts to assemble two other rigs if I desired to. Not counting my wife's rig I own 7 airworthy harnesses, 8 airworthy reserves, 7 airworthy mains, 4 cypres'. Some of these I chose not to jump for obsolete design issues or loading issues. But I do have 5 rigs that give a small weight loss I'd readily jump. If it would help I'd attest to it. Let me know.

But there must be more to the story if the hardware/remains of the rigs were found. Hard to ignore.

This has to have happened before, probably to a rigger that either had a bunch of rigs that needed re-packs, or just a bunch of gear that he/she has accumulated.

Maybe someone will see the post and offer their advice. Wish I had more to offer - best of luck to your friend!
