propacker 0 #1 March 4, 2008 a lady I work with just repaired my jumpsuit booties for me. She completely replaced the bottom part and they look almost better than new. If anyone out there has had bootie repairs done - what did you pay for it. I want to give her a fair price for what she did.
bodypilot90 0 #2 March 4, 2008 I paid $60 for both booties to be replaced, they did everything below the knees. This was from a jump suit manufacturer.

I have paid as little as a copy of a cd full of pictures and as much as 130 bucks including next day air freight both ways. I'd ask her how long she spent on it and pay her the same as your salary.I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun
propacker 0 #4 March 4, 2008 not to minimize it - but she just replaced bottom part that your toes go into. but to me - that is the whole bootie. If you can't stick the appendage in for a nice tight fit - what good is it. Still talking about booties?? oh yeah - I did find a site that charges $50 bucks. She said that it took her about 3 hours. thank ya all for the info.
BIGUN 1,317 #5 March 4, 2008 When Terry was at Skydive Dallas, She replaced both bottoms, added a one inch elastic under the sole and tightened up the elastic on the heel. She did it for me during the evening so I could be jamming the next day. She charged me $30.00, but since she worked on them till about midnite after packing all day, I tipped her another twenty. Hope that helps.Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
BillyVance 34 #6 March 4, 2008 I had a guy at a boogie replace the leather booties on my jumpsuit for $20. The original booties were made with suede leather or something similar. They didn't last very long, started tearing up in the first 100 jumps. The guy replaced them with real rawhide leather. That was probably 8 years ago and they're still holding up! BIGUN 1,317 #7 March 4, 2008 Yup, same thing Terry did. I've wondered if the suit manufacturers couldn't offer that as an option.Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

I always thought that some sort of lightweight shoe sole material (similar to a dress shoe, but not completely slick) would be idealMike I love you, Shannon and Jim. BillyVance 34 #9 March 4, 2008 Quote Yup, same thing Terry did. I've wondered if the suit manufacturers couldn't offer that as an option. Or they used substandard material, knowing they would tear up and the jumpers would send them back in for repairs, ergo, more revenue... But in my case this jumpsuit was quickly made for use at the Skydive Chicago world record 300 way attempts (which resulted in a 246 way world record) at reduced cost. It's served me real well after the repair though."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban
JohnMitchell 16 #10 March 4, 2008 I've had people tell me that some manufacturers state that their suits are only meant to last one season? Has anyone here been told this? Vskydiver makes her suits to last for years. I've jumped some for a decade and they were going strong when I gave them away.
lauraliscious 0 #11 March 4, 2008 Just out of curiosity, does Vskydiver use real leather for the bottom of the booties or the cheaper stuff that all the other manufacturers seem to use? propacker 0 #12 March 4, 2008 I had always covered the bottoms with ShoeGoo. That lasted a long time - but they still wear down. Unfortunately I didn't recover them with Goo and they wore thru. Then new ones she put on for me will get a nice thick coat this evening.

I'm getting a Tony suit, it arrives next week and I'll be disappointed if it's not the last suit I'll ever need. Actually, I couldn't help you because I've only made a few dozen jumps on the Tony Suit. My last jump was in 2013 when I made 5 jumps, and before that, another 3 years since I jumped. It's still in good shape. But damn... you're right, its been a while! Pretty good shape as well, except for a slight rip on the surface of one leg strap, from trying to abort a swoop on asphalt to avoid a collision.
