sharimcm 0 #5 February 6, 2008 Send the snow to Reno! I'd love to have fresh powder to ski on!! We got lucky last year. The day we were supposed to go skiing, it rained like hell. Over night, it poured fresh snow, so we went to play. It was awesome! I didn't drive back to Illinois today, had to go thru the storm in Wisconsin to get to the storm in Illinois. Decided it could wait another day. My grandson called to tell me he has his FIRST snowday, he's in first grade. Unstable 9 #8 February 6, 2008 Quote Had my yearly girly physical. We had 8 inches last night, and all surrounding Schools and Universities were closed. Excpept for KState. Dang. Well, I'm hiding in the Library because I really don't want to go tromping round outside, but I'm sure that's better than cold hands and cold metal going inside of you for the sake of early detection...=========Shaun ==========
JohnMitchell 16 #9 February 6, 2008 I didn't think 6-8 inches of snow was a big deal where you lived. I lived in SLC, Utah for years, and snow didn't really close too much of anything. Here in Seattle, though, 3 inches practically paralyzes folks.

ladyskydiver 0 #14 February 7, 2008 Nope...usually it's not that much of a big deal but the lack of visibility (as well as snow plows running way behind ) was the issue today. Oh, well...a day off to get things accomplished works. Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably. And never regret anything that made you smile. grannyinthesky 0 #15 February 7, 2008 Snow days are a mixed bag. It's nice to get the day off from work, but......I'm a math teacher and we've had three snow days in the last few weeks. We have to finish the same materials by the end of the quarter one way or another. I feel bad for the students. In order to finish, we will have to really hurry through the material. If we don't finish, they won't have the prerequisite skills for the next class in teh sequence. Besides, if this snowing stuff doesn't stop soon, I'm never gonna get to jump and finish AFF. (I know....it will stop, but,,,,,,) "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! " ~~jmy POPS #10490
