In my mind anyway. Why didnt anyone warn me about loud bloody tornado sirens? In OH?

Woke up about 1:30am not knowing what the fuck was going on, i nearly ended up like Tom Cruise in War of the Worlds in the basement (only better looking and only half as crazy) thinking the Russians and lets face it, everyone else who doesn't really like this place was coming (rest of the world)

Aren't you living in Tornado Alley?

Most of the time, I try to go out and look where the excitement is coming from... foolish I know, but nature looks SO COOL! (and besides, that way I might get to meet the Wizard in Oz. Or Elphaba)

Those Munchkin chicks are sooooooo hot!!! :)

I just turned on CNN and they're reporting on a tornado - I'm almost certain that it's the same 1 you speak of. 55+ people dead across 4 states. :(

Glad you're OK...

Welcome to tornado alley you Brit! :D

I get these sirens at least 3 or 4 times each spring and fall when tornadoes are most prevalent. We don't normally see them in the winter though. And yes, if I'm standing outside or have a window open, I can hear the foghorn-sounding sirens. There's a siren just 500 yards from my house. ;)

Most of the time when tornadoes enter Alabama from Mississippi, they peter out just before reaching my county. Sometimes I get a little disappointed... figure that one out! :P

I had no idea that there are tornados in Ohio. :|

Guess I'm always watching the ones that run through Oklahoma and thereabouts where my in-laws live...:S

Welcome to le' Midwest. We fire ours up every week, Monday at 10:00am sharp. Em, I'm used to it. Gotta love Kansas!

Ya know.. I would think underground concrete housing in Kansas etc.... would be all the rage...

The other problem is there are FAR too many mobile homes in that part of the world.. and we all know that tornadoes are attracted to those.

I am soooo scared of tornadoes for some reason. When I was younger, the sirens would go off in the middle of night and I would RUN downstairs to our basement and start crying hysterically if my whole family wasn't directly behind me.

I still freak out when I hear the sirens, but I don't cry anymore. You would think that living in Georgia I would be used to it by now and not so scared.

Tornades are frightening! Don't mess with em!
I'm so funny I crack my head open!

I know. Mobile Homes are the curse of the midwest. I'm all for em, until they get swept away.
