what type of file? WMV, MPG, AVI, etc? WMV will typically give you the smallest file size if you don't want to edit to make it shorter. There are conversion programs out there, I have one on mine.

i have a 560 MB video. how can i make the file smaller?

Drag it to the trashcan then right click on the trash can and select "empty."

Or you can lower the resolution of the video or you can change the format of the video to a more appropriate selection. Most likely a combination of both will do you well.

Try this: WM Converter 2.0

Its freeware and its worked well for me. Converted from format to format and lets you play with the quality to make things smaller.
