Icon134 0 #27 January 22, 2008 We had a buick wagon sort of like that only smaller... My parents also had a full size van with a pop-top... (a plastic top that could be raised thus allowing it to be used as a camper of sorts...) it was called a turtle shell or something similar... the van was even green as I recall. After that my dad bought a Silver conversion van... you know the kind with the plush interior, swivel seats, absolutely no visability, and tremendously horrible to drive in the winter. As us kids grew up and moved out my parents converted to the mini van... the first one being a chevy astro (my dad is a retired GM employee) and the most recent one being a Toyota Sienna... even though they don't have kids in the house... dad likes the minivans for carrying stuff to and from habat sites as well as longer trips...Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife... eeneR 3 #28 January 22, 2008 Mine were so not Mr and Ms. practical. We had a 1973 Dodge Dart Sport I remember that through most of my childhood, till my mom finally broke down and got a Chevy Cavalier as a second car in Mid 80's. It is quite funny as they bought that car 2 months before I was born If I remember correct they had a challenger before that. Misternatural 0 #29 January 22, 2008 442 now that was a cool car, the only cool car we had was a 55 Willys Jeep that my dad bought, of course I confiscated that and put some fat raised white letter tires on it and an overdrive,- yeah good times. BTW- no need for a van, you can get shagged in a Jeep too.Beware of the collateralizing and monetization of your desires. D S #3.1415
Muenkel 0 #30 January 22, 2008 My parents had quite a few Cadillacs, but I do remember a Pontiac Catalina station wagon. Then there was another station wagon after that which I believe was a Vista Cruiser. After that, I remember a Chevy Suburban Silverado. _________________________________________ Chris

Cuz you posted a pic of the car my parents had. Other cars they had that I remember include a 64 Vette (they didn't have that for long), several vans (for their business), a 70 Nova 2 door (sweet ride... they sold it before I was old enough to drive), a 65 Nova 4 door (that one was supposed to be mine), a 79 Mercedes 280CE and 76 Ford F250 extra cab long bed (took my driving test in that one). Then the fins hit.. the 59 Impala and 61 Impala SS. In 1964 Mom went a little nuts and got a Corvair Spyder after that no more little cars for her. I learned how to drive in our family 67 Impala SS and my very first car was a used 1963 Impala SS for my 16th birthday ( mom would not let me get the 1966 Barracuda that I really wanted.. too small)
