kelpdiver 2 #29 January 8, 2008 QuoteQuote Playoffs don't fix the problem. Then your results are dictated heavily by the seedings. While seedings may add controversy, whichever team wins out would have a legitimate claim as champion. There would only be one capable of claiming they beat everyone they faced, and everyone else would be able to point to at least one team who was better than them. We already have this now. Lose in November and you're usually out of the title consideration. And if we had done it this year, everyone but the team who drew Hawaii (hi, Bulldogs) would be grumbling. Your model also has every team but one ended the season as losers. That sucks.

BillyVance 34 #35 January 8, 2008 When Ohio State broke that 65 yard TD run to start the scoring, I thought LSU was in trouble. Then LSU fucked up their first drive and had to punt. And then when Ohio State completed a long pass to get within striking distance of the end zone, I texted Shane, this could get real ugly. They could get up 14-0. LSU held them to a FG for a 0-10 deficit. Since then it's been 24 unanswered points by LSU. A total and complete turnaround. Wow... Half time now! yardhippie 0 #43 January 8, 2008 Quote PURPLE AND YELLOW WINS Just goes to show: The BCS is a POS. LSU has a great defense and better offense. OSU didnt belong in the Championship. (just like last year) That is all.Oh, and one of the only TWO teams to beat LSU this year? That would be Arkansas! BillyVance 34 #45 January 8, 2008 Quote Well, the year should end with #1 and #2 being SEC teams I think so yes. LSU #1, Georgia #2. Enough said. Speed kills. SEC! SEC! SEC! SEC! SEC! SEC! Ohio State? 0-9 versus the SEC in bowl games. I had no idea it would be that bad. I figured OSU would be more ready for this one than last year. Who knew? But you know what? This year was supposed to be a rebuilding year for OSU. They only had 2 or 3 senior starters. The others were 10 juniors and 8 sophomores, and the remainder freshmen, so they were really looking to next year. My prediction for next year's national championship game? Georgia 45 Ohio State 24 Edited to add: Oh yeah, there's been a lot of discussion and mudslinging on the sports forums about the Big Ten and SEC supremacy or head-to-head competition in the bowls. Well this bowl season, yes, the Big Ten got one against the SEC - Michigan over Florida. But overall? futuredivot 0 #50 January 8, 2008 Quote time to go bury my head for a while Nah-I think that OSU had a heck of a "rebuilding" year. Won't suprize me if they were in back to back to back championship games. And maybe, next year, they'll get to play a PAC-10 teamYou are only as strong as the prey you devour
