BillyVance 35 #1 January 9, 2008 There I was, in the local gadget store where you can find almost anything, and for cheap. I was looking for a pair of thin bolts and nuts to mount my new ceiling light fixture in the foyer. Bolts - 3¢ each, nuts - 3¢ each. Brought them to the cashier and told her 3¢ each. She rang up the sale and I paid with a dollar bill, took the change and receipt and headed home. Only when I got home and looked at the receipt did I realize she only rang up two bolts, or two nuts, not all four pieces. I had threaded the nuts on the bolts before I went to the cashier. This is a place that only takes cash, no checks or credit cards, and nothing can be returned. Just one of those odd but very useful stores that I've frequented many times, and where I can save as much as 80% on little things than if I bought them at Home Depot. I love this place. Guess I'll slip the cashier an extra 6¢ next time. turtlespeed 226 #3 January 9, 2008 Bought a nice Dewalt 18 volt combo pack - with light /Recip/Circ/Drill - shelf had it at 299 plus tax - rang up as 499 - I showed the clerk the tag on the shelf - He said - well, we have to honor it - and then you could hear the stocking manager being called over the intercom . . . Is that stealing?I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun

Is that stealing? No, it is not stealing. How I've handled this situation before ... I tell the stocking manager that if they want to change the tag on the shelf right now I will be fine with that but I may not purchase the item (at the correct price). However, if they don't want to change the tag on the shelf right now I will be fine with that and I will purchase the item (at the incorrect price).
