SkydiveStMarys 0 #1 January 5, 2008 They put all the old video recordings on DVD for me and my siblings. Back when you had a video recorder and it actually had FILM in it and you needed a projector to view them!! LOL. God the freakin' memories. I was really cute back then!! God the early 70's and how they made me dress, sheeeesh!! Nothing like tube socks and shorts!! LOLOLOL BobbiA miracle is not defined by an event. A miracle is defined by gratitude. NWFlyer 2 #2 January 5, 2008 What a thoughtful gift. To this day I think my favorite Christmas present was the year my mom put together two albums worth of childhood photos (each) for my brother and me. Many were ones she'd sent to my grandparents as we were growing up that they'd saved through the years, and that mom and dad had retrieved in the process of cleaning out their homes after they'd passed on. I love having those photos to look back on from time to time. We never had any movie or video cameras growing up, so the photos are the primary childhood record. jdthomas 0 #4 January 5, 2008 I actually am doing the same thing for my mother, the company charges about 20$ per roll of 8mm film to do this.. cheap enough! I can't wait to see some of these old videos, the last time I saw them I was 10, that was 27 years ago.. where did the time go?www.greenboxphotography.com
selbbub78 0 #5 January 5, 2008 Wow, that is so sweet and thoughtful!!! It's funny, when i was back at my parents place where I grew up, I was looking at all our old VHS tapes we had... It was sorta funny looking back in the 80s... Every year I keep meaning to go through ALL of my dad's slides, and make a photo albumn of the years... It's just that there are a lot of slides, and trying to keep them in order, and put them back in order... it's a lot of time... ...especially when you don't have access to them ALL the time That's such a sweet gift though. Some of my parents family did that for their 3 kids this year. They showed me the albumn that they were working on for my friends. It's such a nice thoughtful gift! SkydiveStMarys 0 #6 January 5, 2008 Yep, just called them to thank them and tell them how much I am thrilled with their thoughtful gift. It might sound cheap enough, but my dad carried a camera wherever he went. He said that this company charged by the foot. He gave them 8 feet of 8mm. Luckily the second DVD for my sister was free. He says that he has about 8 to 10 more reels that he wants to convert for us kids. The last time I saw these films was about 30 yrs ago. Your right, where did the time go? And where did that happy go lucky CUTE kid go?? LOL BobbiA miracle is not defined by an event. A miracle is defined by gratitude.
ACMESkydiver 0 #7 January 6, 2008 Very cool gift. We have an old reel somewhere in mom and dad's house...~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
Snowwhite 0 #8 January 6, 2008 There are six kids in my family, and my dad was a filming nut. My siblings and I all chipped together a few years back to have it all converted to video, and the guy who did the editing did a phenomenal job of adding appropriate, and correctly dated music. I think it would be good to have all of this video re edited to DVD, but don't know where to go to do it. I now have the videos of my kids as they were growing up to add to it.skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com
SkydiveStMarys 0 #9 January 6, 2008 Actually my dad said that their local CVS did it. Much like sending film out to be developed. It took them 5 to 6 weeks to get it back to him. LOL Bobbi I am still cute and a kid at heart! the videos are running me about 200$ for 10 reels to get converted, but no price would have been to much for my Mother, she has done so much for me thru the years that this was just a small efort on my part that fails in comaprision to her past and contuining efforts to raise me correctly.www.greenboxphotography.com
SkydiveStMarys 0 #11 January 6, 2008 Yep still cute, hope you know how to use a comb now though.yep, my dad said he was going to get all the reels done and basically price wasn't an issue. I told him that us kids would be more then happy to help with the cost, he said no, it was his gift to us. And to think I called them crazy just a few days ago. Maybe they had a moment of clarity.Bobbi A miracle is not defined by an event. A miracle is defined by gratitude.

Video is an electronic format. Cool gift!---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
