adventurechick 0 #1 April 21, 2006 So I've made 20 jumps... and I am thinking about putting an order in for a jumpsuit since it takes 6 weeks to make. I don't know if I should order a freefly suit or a RW suit... In the future I would like to do some freeflying...maybe sit fly perhaps or something of that nature... but I need to learn more stuff on my belly for now.. Do most young jumpers go for the RW suit with booties... or get a freefly suit? Andy_Copland 0 #2 April 21, 2006 I was just thinking the exact same thing you know. I have the money for a jumpsuit but im struggling to decide. I want to get a little better at belly flying then turn to the dark side but i cant afford 2 suits! Hmmmm decisions1338 People aint made of nothin' but water and shit. Until morale improves, the beatings will continue.
GravityGirl 0 #3 April 21, 2006 Unless you are a really heavy jumper, you'll need an RW suit to stay relative with other jumpers. You might be able to find a used one. What is your height and weight. apollard24 0 #4 April 21, 2006 There are a lot of great suits out there. I personally love the Ouragan suits but it depends on how much you want to spend on a suit.Breathe out so I can breathe you in...

ZigZagMarquis 9 #7 April 21, 2006 ... go for the RW suit, most definitly, Tony Suits are good and so are Bev Suits and Michigan Suits... old school used to be get your first RW suit without booties, but these days, most get booties from the get-go... Good luck... and think RW suit!

AdD 1 #9 April 22, 2006 I think you should learn to fly your body before you add booties. It will make you better in the long run. Wearing booties under 50 jumps seems like a bit of a bad idea unless you have tunnel access.Life is ez On the dz Every jumper's dream 3 rigs and an airstream

GravityGirl 0 #12 April 22, 2006 Get a suit that can be used for both. no booties. and a little bit baggy << That trick might work for bigger guys, but at 5'8" and 127 lbs., if she puts on a baggy suit, she'll fall relative with no one. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! milkybar 0 #13 April 22, 2006 Save your money, go old school. You don't need a suit to jump, there's lots of suitable/save clothing off the shelf to jump in [always doublecheck with your instructors]. Don't rush into buying something, also lots of 2nd hand suits usually knocking around in other jumpers closets. Welcome to the Skies
stratostar 5 #14 April 22, 2006 Bootie are way over rated. You don't need no stinking booties! ~you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

You don't need an expensive jumpsuit this early in your carreer - or ever, for that matter. I usually wear an old military flight-suit and can keep up with just about anyone - fast or slow. You don't have to worry about being a "designer sky-diver"...you know, the type that has to have a suit that matches his rig, a canopy that matches the rig, just the right color combo, but must have a contrasting pilot chute, etc, etc. Save your money and buy jumps. Get good before you get "pretty".
Orange1 0 #16 April 22, 2006 Quote AMEN. You don't need an expensive jumpsuit this early in your carreer - or ever, for that matter. . Just to chuck in a contrary opinion, I am a slow faller and a custom fit tight suit made a significant difference to my fall rate - can focus a bit on flying your body rather than just arching as hard as you can to keep up, or wearing a ton of weights... and i love my booties Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun. adventurechick 0 #17 April 22, 2006 I've been told by everyone I jump with that I'm a slow faller.. I jump with grown men.. and I'm not so much as big... so I would like to get a jumpsuit to aid in my flying! unfeomateo 1 #20 April 26, 2006 I like the booties in the air, but I have to put them on before I get in the plane and remember to take them off before I land, so it adds to my gear checks. I'm a slow faller so my suit is super tight, almost too tight. Will the suit stretch at all? I have a bev suit.
