SkydiveStMarys 0 #3 December 24, 2007 My youngest son has awoken early, bouncing off the ceiling!! He can't wait for Santa!! I remember that feeling, its neat to experience it from a parents point of view and to know that once again I'm gonna pull off the Christmas "magic" again this year!!! My 12 yr old, soon to be 13, knows all about Santa, but he is going along with it for his brothers sake. He's a good kid...... Merry Christmas!! BobbiA miracle is not defined by an event. Jewels 0 #4 December 24, 2007 Merry Christmas to you, too! Have a wonderful day! It will be quiet around here most of the day, but there will be the traditional last-minute gift wrapping while watching White Christmas and church later this afternoon. We do have one other little tradition. The first person up must shout "Christmas Eve Gift!" That person gets to open one present early, but it's more fun when there are young ones in the house. No matter--early presents are early presents! TPM Sister #
skymama 37 #5 December 24, 2007 We will open presents in my family tonight. There will be 27 people at my parent's house. We will go over around noon and start with croquet, pinochle, eating and drinking. The moms will make a huge dinner and no one will be really hungry because we ate all day. I don't even know where we're all going to sit with all the presents that will be there for that many people, but it will be great. Tomorrow it's Christmas with my husband's family and then a party with friends that night. Merry Christmas, Gayle, and to everyone else! Jewels 0 #6 December 24, 2007 27! What a fun gathering. Everyone should have to weigh in upon arrival and then again upon leaving! Then again, perhaps it's better not to know! That will be such a great day! Have a WONDERFUL time. TPM Sister #

kbordson 8 #9 December 24, 2007 I was planning to go up to Wisconsin to visit family during the holidays, but the storm front that came through over the weekend nixed that trip. But... relaxing in my own home, no structured schedules, just time off to unwind..... is VERY nice too! Besides.... my sweet lil niece is sick with some flu, so she's just gonna want to sleep and sleep and sleep some more anyway.Today, I'm just going to curl up at home and relax. shropshire 0 #12 December 24, 2007 'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse; The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there; The children were nestled all snug in their beds, While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads; And mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap, Had just settled down for a long winter's nap, When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter. Away to the window I flew like a flash, Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash. The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below, When, what to my wondering eyes should appear, But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer, With a little old driver, so lively and quick, I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick. More rapid than eagles his coursers they came, And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name; "Now, Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen! On, Comet! on Cupid! on, Donder and Blitzen! To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall! Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!" As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly, When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky, So up to the house-top the coursers they flew, With the sleigh full of toys, and St. Nicholas too. And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof The prancing and pawing of each little hoof. As I drew in my hand, and was turning around, Down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound. He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot, And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot; A bundle of toys he had flung on his back, And he looked like a peddler just opening his pack. His eyes -- how they twinkled! his dimples how merry! His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry! His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow, And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow; The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth, And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath; He had a broad face and a little round belly, That shook, when he laughed like a bowlful of jelly. He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf, And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself; A wink of his eye and a twist of his head, Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread; He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work, And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk, And laying his finger aside of his nose, And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose; He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle, And away they all flew like the down of a thistle. But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight, (.)Y(.) Chivalry is not dead; it only sleeps for want of work to do. - Jerome K Jerome

RALFFERS 0 #25 December 24, 2007 Am going to my sister's house to meet the rest of the family - my family, combined with that of my brother in-law's makes for about 20-30 people. We (and I think Europeans in general) make Christmas Eve the 'main attraction' if you will; dinner with the family and opening presents tonight. Although we live in very close proximity of one another, I rarely get to see my family (3-4 times a year.) So, it should be good. Than again... Next year I'm spending the holidays In Florida; I need time just for me Hopefully I'll be able to jump by than - but tunnel flying and bumming around a DZ isn't bad either I wish you all, all the best this holiday season!! Edited to add: Thoughts, and prayers for peace go out to all those that have lost a loved one - Please think of them as you're with your families.
